The picture shows that the Google search field has been moved from under the address bar and has been placed next to the address bar.

This slims down the address and search bars into one, which also has a similar layout and appearance in line with the desktop version of Safari.

I’m not confirming this will be in the final release of iPhone/iPod touch firmware 2.2, but I would certainly like to see it in there.

Its been a week since i picked up my iPhone 3G and to be totally honest its the most excited I have been when getting a new phone. I was very eager to get it open i waited to get home and slowly opened it and as i expect from Apple the packaging was of the the highest standard. It seems Apple add little touches to the packaging to let you know that you have a quality product. After activating and updating the firmware on Iphone I got down to the business of syncing contacts, calendar and my music onto my new device. As soon as that was complete I started playing with the features i had not used on my iPod touch such as the SMS app which I have fallen in love with. I do a lot of texting during the day and it the way Apple has laid the SMS app out is fantastic in my opinion, Its very helpful the fact that it lays it out like a chat App showing what has recently been sent back and forth. As i have said in a previous post i was disappointed that Apple has still not added MMS to the iPhone but i know a lot of third party developers are working on it even if Apple are not. to be honest i was not that excited about the addition of GPS as I will rarely if ever use it but i suppose its nice to have as you never know when you would kill for GPS. Many people have blogged about poor battery life but i do not seem to have a problem with it but i do not have wifi on all day and i am not running games all day either so i am more then happy with the battery. Many people have said the 2 mega pixel camera in the iPhone is not great but if you want stunning picture use a dedicated camera is what i would say, I am happy with the camera and have had some really nice shots but i have also had my share of poor ones too, I agree that a better camera would have been nice but if you use a more powerful camera in the iPhone i am sure the battery life would suffer more then it does already. One thing I have to say is thank you to all the developers out there creating amazing Apps for the iPhone and there are some great freebees out there so thanks again. Now onto the things i would like to see come to the iPhone in the next few versions of the firmware.

1. MMS come on Apple its got to be done we all know it

2. The ability to set a wallpaper behind the icons on the home screen.

3. Portrait mode for SMS input, Safari has it why not SMS???

4. The ability to turn wifi of 3G on and off from the home screen rather then going through the settings menus.

5. Flash support in Safari give us a little more of the whole internet.

6. The shack to shuffle feature from the new iPod nano it sure would be nice but not a must.

7. Copy/Cut/Paste.

8. A basic text editor.

9. Sync my notes in Mail on my Mac with my notes on my iPhone.

10. iChat sure would be nice, Video conferencing is not a most but at least give us iChat.

I most say I love my iPhone a lot but with most devices there are always ways to make them better i just hope Apple do make the worlds best phone even better. The iPhone gets a 9 out of 10 from me what about you?

After getting my first Mac I was raving about the Mighty Mouse saying it was the best mouse in the world, but since then it has started to irritate me by not scrolling up for hours on end and then working again.

I spent hours cleaning the scroll ball the way Apple recommended and still no luck; a few hours later it wasn’t scrolling down again.

I did a bit of forum surfing to see if I could fix it a lot of people recommended to keep trying Apple’s method of cleaning which is to turn the mouse upside down and run the scroll ball on a slightly damp cloth. After hours of this I thought it was time to call Apple. They said they have a lot of problems with the Mighty Mouse scroll ball and that they would replace it free of charge because it was still in the one-year warranty.

I was a little unhappy that the Mighty Mouse had let me down after only six months. Maybe Apple should not be branding this as the Mighty Mouse because it’s not so mighty.

Apple showed off the next version of OS X at WWDC 08 this week saying it’s going to hit the pause button on new features. Apple says it is going to be focusing on making the OS more compatible with today’s multicore processors using a new technology called Grand Central, which allows applications to spread the load over multiple cores and processors. Its also helps developers create applications that can squeeze more power from these multicore processors.

Apple is also adding a new technology Open CL (Open Computing Language) which gives developers access to the vast power of the GPU. OS X 10.6 will also include out of the box support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 for push email, calendar, and contacts.

QuickTime is also receiving a workover with QuickTime X, a new platform for better media playback. We are also set to see the next iteration of the massively popular Web Safari; Apple says Safari 4 will have the the fastest implementation of JavaScript to date. Apple claims it will run up to 53% faster than the current JavaScript - this will make Web applications run more smoothly.

It seems Apple is committed to fixing the bugs in its operating system and it’s working to polish and perfect it, which brings me to the name Snow Leopard. Not a totally new animal; just a little different.

As many will know the iPhone 3G was launched at WWDC 08. During the keynote Apple showed off the new iPhone which has had a slight case redesign the metal back has gone to be replaced by a full plastic case for better signal and for the new gps chip.

Apple also showed off the iPhone SDK, which does look amazing, and last they showed some of the new features of the new 2.0 firmware but one of the things the iPhone has been missing is mms alot of people have been asking for this since day pne of the iPhone almost a year ago.

The only reason I can see that Apple has not introduced MMS is the fact that they do not want you to share your music or other media that has been purchased on the iTunes music store. Another thing people have been craving for is video recording on the iPhone. I am not quite sure why they have not added this yet as it is one the most asked for additions to the iPhone, With the launch of the app store there might be a third party application that can ad these missing features to the iPhone. Although I do love the phone, it’s still not perfect.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either <a href="http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/13766/rn_a32755/">Parallels</a> or <a href="http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/17081/rn_a32755/">VMware</a> (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with <a href="http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/17081/rn_a32755/">VMware</a> and/or <a href="http://send.onenetworkdirect.net/z/13766/rn_a32755/">Parallels</a>.
