Adobe made statements today claiming that they are going to be bring flash to the iphone and ipod touch. According to adobe they have a copy of the iphone/ipod touch SDK (software development kit) and are to build the flash player and distribute it through the itunes app store. Steve Jobs stated the reasons why there was not flash support for the iphone and ipod touch claiming the the flash Lite for mobile was not full featured enough, while the full version of flash would not run well on the iphone and ipod touch. Other claims state the reason there is no flash support for the ipod and ipod touch is a licensing negotiation between Apple and Adobe about the iphone and ipod touch’s PDF reader. It seems Adobe will want to use there PDF reader on the iphone and ipod touch but Apple already have one build into the iphone/ipod touch operating system.

Wow.
just.
wow.
do you people realize how hard it would be to make a flash designed JUST for the iphone/itouch?
do you know that if apple hadn’t made it possible for the iphone/itouch to watch MPEG-4 videos directly in Safari, the iphone/itouch would have been released so much earlier? imagine how much it will take to make a program like that work? you can’t play in-browser games, like on addictinggames.com, so, they would have to block that type of flash.
and there are multiple types of flash games.
they would have to write like, one code that could take them days to write. just to block one type of flash.
don’t expect this update to come out before the second-gen ipod touch/iphone comes out.
