The old giant falls fast I guess. Yahoo use to be at the top of their game until a little bug named Google came in and tried to wipe out every other search engine there was. Mega search sites like Lycos, WebCrawler, and Altavista. Have slipped into even more of a shadow since Google came along. Lycos now references Ask for all results, WebCrawler is now a Meta-Search which list Google. Altavista is still trucking, but their users have just vanished.

Monday, Yahoo. Said “No” to Microsoft. As if Yahoo is going to get any better. Yahoo has been suffering for a couple of years and their just getting back on track. Their stock is staying steady, and the Microsoft-Yahoo deal. Could have made Yahoo go through the roof, but one dumb analysis said “It’s too little for yahoo”. What? Are you kidding me $44.6B bid? Are you serious. Yahoo is worth a good amount, but to deny this offer is… just dumb. Ok, Yahoo is partnered with many companies. Like AT&T, They own Flickr, and many other companies. They own, old services too. But really, That is a lot of money for a virtually a company that can’t get any better.

The thing is, I think Yahoo hates Microsoft. They’ve made numerous comments about how Microsoft, will make it all business. I’m just tired of this stereotype. Microsoft innovates, a lot. The 360 is probably one of the most “futuristic” consoles out there. It offers a great online service and kick-a games. Vista, is a great OS. People to say Microsoft ripped off Apple. Please. You’re talking about the biggest thief of tech. The Vista Beta, which was revealed around 2003. Had the glass/aero feature. This was before Apple had their’s, but in saying that. Linux had it first. Ubuntu, Fedora, ext are all what Apple has ripped off. Common! Compare Ubuntu to OS X. Within saying that. I think Yahoo, wants to be “mainstream” if Microsoft buying them that might just “cramp their wannabe style”. I just bet, if Apple made a bid for Yahoo. They’d say hell yeah! Instead of hell no, like they did to Microsoft.

All in all, I’m glad Microsoft didn’t get Yahoo, in the end. Microsoft already has MSN, they need to just work on it. Make it twice as good as Yahoo, and show them. I like MSN a lot more then I do Yahoo, I’m just kinda stuck with Yahoo. I got AT&T. The funniest thing about the whole thing, is that when you go to AT&T.net they use Google as a search engine instead of Yahoo. Talk about loyalty. No one likes Yahoo search.
