Ok, so the first virus for os x has happened, hwat can you do to stop them to coming onto your computer, here are some tips and tricks to stay virus free!!

1) Don’t download software that you don’t need, i’ll keep it short and simple, if you download anything that you don’t need or you’re not going to use, DONT DOWNLOAD IT!! If you’re running ANY operating system, eventually you will get a virus espicially since os x is 32% of the market now.

2)Don’t download ANYTHING with bad words or any adult content in the tiitle. THE first os x virus was caused because of this. If you want to watch any adult content watch it on youtube, that is th only safe website, but im not encouraging you to watch it at all, the guy might lead you to a website that has a virus, so no place is safe.

3) Use an application like appzapper if you don’t like the software. There are many viruses thatt only get hot after a month, so you trust the program and recomend it to friends.

If you have any more tips and tricks send them to me at rht_rv@yahoo.com and watc my youtube videos, my username is rhtrv1.

Ok, a lot of you have seen my dock and asked how i get those spaces in between the apps. It is a long terminal code and I will paste it here: “defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add ‘{ “tile-type” = “spacer-tile”; }’” (don’t include the “s!)   You can make as many as you want, just paste how many ever you want, but when you go to your dock no spaces are there, you have to use the famous “killall Dock” code and voila you have a bunch of spaces in your dock. But there is one big problem!! All of them are in one place, all you have to do is pretend that they are applications and drag them wherever you want them! You can remove them in the same way, thanks for reading! defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add ‘{ “tile-type” = “spacer-tile”; }’   You can make as many as you want, just paste how many ever you want, but when you go to your dock no spaces are there, you have to use the famous “killall Dock” code and voila you have a bunch of spaces in your dock.

Obviously this is my first real blog post and I’ll start it off with the ol’ Mac vs PC battle, obviously I will be favloring the Mac side a bit more but i will give my best shot at it.

I will take two entry level laptops and desktops and compare them with each other, the item will have similar prices.

MacBook vs Dell XPS M1330

1) Price Tied
2) Memory Tied
3) Hard Drive Space Tied
4) Processor MacBook
5) Camera Tied
6) Video Card Same
7) Wireless Card MacBook

Apple’s MacBook beat Dell’s XPS by the score of 2-0

Mac Mini vs Dell Inspiron 530s

1) Price Dell
2) Memory Tied
3) Hard Drive Space Dell
4) Processor Mac Mini
5)Camera No Camera
6)Video Card Tied
7)Wireless Card Mac Mini

So the Mac Mini wins 2-1 and an overall score of 4-1

I am not saying that OS X is better, but I think the software that comes with OS X is better than the software that comes with any Windows machine. The only reason I didn’t include thsi information in my comparison is because Apple makes the OS and the machine but Dell and HP are only OEMs.

Get a Free Audio Book

Are you tired of reading books? Me too. Over the years, I developed pulpuslaceratapohobia - and the only known cure for that is Audible. Finally, a way to digest words without actually having to read them. Professional voices are wonderful choices if you love literary works in audio format. Are you ready to read some audio books? Maybe you should just listen to them instead.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
