Apocalypse 2012: The Ticking of the End Time Clock

Posted by on Apr 20, 2010 | 20 Comments

There has been much talk during the past few years about the year 2012 and what it might hold for us. In essence the documentaries, books, and even a movie attempt to show us what could happen when the world comes to an end. But there is one thing I personally do not believe about the hype over the year 2012. I specifically do not believe that the date December 21, 2012 will be when the world ends. The Bible is explicit in the fact that no one will know the exact date when the world will end.

In his book Apocalypse 2012: The Ticking of the End Time Clock, Mr. John Claeys makes a solid case in why we are heading towards the end times. Claeys uses Bible quotes to back up his claims that we are entering a period of time that suggests that the end is nearer than we may think. For those who have read the book of Revelations and came away confused, Mr. Claeys explains simply what Revelations states through prophesy, and explains what the word of God means.

Mr. Claeys also gives the reader a direction in understanding the word of God and what will happen in the future. I do not want to give away any of what he presents, except for one small fact he presents. In his explanation of the Anti-Christ, Mr. Claeys shows the reader through maps and prophesy that this person, the Anti-Christ will come from Iraq. As with any explanation of  what the Bible says, this is his opinion, but one that he backs up with facts.

Mr. Claeys takes the reader on a journey where good and evil forces collide, not only here on earth, but also in heaven. Mr. Claveys on his web site also presents this information:

  • The Bible predicts an end-time rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, but did you realize that Jewish groups in Israel have already prepared for it?
  • The Bible indicates that just before God pours out judgment to end the world as we know it, world leaders will proclaim “peace and security”; but did you know that within the last year, the phrase “peace and security” has been used repeatedly and in an unprecedented fashion by President Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, leaders at the U.N., and a number of other world leaders?
  • The world has been focused on achieving a Middle East peace treaty involving Israel; but did you know the Bible predicts that the end of the world as we know it will arrive shortly after a treaty with Israel goes into effect?
  • Did you know that by removing Saddam Hussein, the U.S. set the environment to fulfill an end times prediction of the Bible of a man rising in power from Iraq to rule the world just before the end of the world as we know it?

I would highly recommend that you read this book to get a better understanding on what the end of times really is and why it is important for you to prepare for it. This will be one event that none of us will be able to escape.

Comments welcome.

Wow… where to begin. I was under the impression that Lockergnome was a relatively serious resource for tech news, and then this shows up. Not only a reference to the “2012 apocalypse” based on a ridiculous interpretation of the Mayan calendar, but then a completely straight-faced claim of upcoming end-times foretold by the bible. I am gobsmacked.

It’s very telling that the prominent advertisements on the page are for “Live Psychic Readings,” and the Google ad-words link displayed when I visited was to rael.com, the web site for one of the world’s most notoriously ridiculous cults. They are known for, among other strange things, their false 2003 claim that they had cloned a human child and their belief that the human race was created in labs by aliens.

This could be the largest concentration of drivel ever congregated in one web page on an otherwise informative site. I might email Chris and recommend that Ron moves on to another employer who might share his idiotic views.

Maybe I had better read the book, because it seems pretty absurd to me, why otherwise anyone would look at a Mayan prophesy from a Christian’s perspective? Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I thought the Mayans were a polytheistic people, who’s religion or gods had any correlation to that of Christianity, other than making predictions from the stars (where did that past time go?).

      Hello BD,
May I recommend you read the book. I think you will find it revealing in that there is more to 2012 than just the Mayan calendar.

      Greetings Simon,

No man knows the time or the day. Our Lord Jesus will come like a theif in the night.

If it all ends in 2012, perhaps Ron wouldn’t mind co-signing on a few high ticket items for me ;-) I believe a Lamborghini LP640 should be on every bucket list. Honestly Ron, it won’t come back to haunt you!!!

Anyhow, I will be contacting John Cusack for advice. He’s been there, done that.

    Fun article Ron! Thanks.

      Hi BCampbell,
The check is in the mail! LOL

I suggest you read “The Pursuit of the Millennium” by Norman Cohn (1961). It’s a true scholarly work. Mr. Cohn shows that over and over, starting in the late 900s, people interpreted the same biblical prophesies (mainly Revelations and the Book of Daniel) to prove decisively that in every generation, Jesus’ return was imminent. In my adult lifetime, from the ’70s on, it seems someone has proven that Jesus has been coming back every three years or so. Again, he wrote it in 1961, before the the Hal Lindsey and “Left behind” spate of nonsense.

    It gets old.

Here’s a prophesy that probably will come true: after 2012, someone will prove that Jesus’ return is once again imminent – in 2015.

      Hi Don,
I do have to agree with you that through out history many have proclaimed the 2nd coming.
But times are different. Once the Jews returned to Israel and became a state in 1948, the clock started to tick.
If one is to believe that once this happened a generation will not pass before the end of time, than one could also conclude the time may be near.
      Just my 2 cents.

Not sure where he’s finding the stuff in the Bible about Iraq and Israel. Revelation is a book presented in signs and visions. Most of it is not literal.

The proclamation of “peace and security” – now that’s true, but just because someone uses the words doesn’t mean it’s a fulfillment of that prophecy.

I’m not arguing with the fact that the end is close, however. I just have a different concept of it than most.

In the November/December issue of Archeology magazine Anthony Aveni writes an excellent article about the “doomsday” prophecies supposedly in the Mayan calendar stone. In interviews with Mayan priests (Yes, they still exist) they said that there is no prophecy of the end of the world. All that is happening is that the calendar turns over like New Year’s Day. Also, check the November/December issue of Skeptical Inquirer’s article by David Morrison regarding the 2012 “Doomsday.” And, Don Stevens is correct about the constant predictions of the end of the world according the the Book of Revelation. In fact, in the year 999 going into 1000 people stayed on their rooftops all night waiting the end of the world. They didn’t want to miss it.

The end of time has been ticking since the beginning to time. I am a Christian and have studied a lot about it. However, no one knows when it will happen.

There is one thing that seems to be agreed on my most scholars and that is that when Israel became a state in 1948, the Bible states that this generation will not pass away until Christ returns to claim his people.

A lot of people think that the end will be then. However, a lot of people seem to agree that the world will be left for seven years without the Holy Spirit. Can anyone imagine how terrible that would be?

That will be a horrible time on earth for the people left here. The non believers as I have read but I am not certain of that.

I feel that we all need to live our lives in such a way that when the end time comes, we will be ready for it.

Good article. I enjoyed reading it.

Correct if I’m wrong at any point!
I think that ppl also thought that the world is going to end in 2000 and now in 2012. The Mayan calendar ends at december 21, 2010, Earth is aligning with the galactic equator and so on and on… I don’t really think that it will happen, but I think that the thinking that world is going to end at that date brings riots, suicides and those who believe it thinks that there isn’t no point in their life anymore and that’s a problem. If we even die, we would only be a tiny bit of the universe and would be nothing. We, humans are such EGO’s, we think that we are “SPECIAL”.

    A Christian Response to 2012

2012 events is not about Religion. Its about spirituality. We are spirits and we create all our illusory realities.

The religion tell us to pray to God for forgiveness for our sins (dark illusory realities) and if we don’t God will condemn us to hell fire. That is false. The churches have become so corrupt with sex scandals, money laundering and fear tactics that it is hard to rely on churches. The bible has been indoctrinated that most portion claiming God is a destructive God and Jesus will fly through the skies to save us from our dark illusions we continue to create as Christan’s – all points to fear tactics and lies. Do the maths!

God is a spirit and light energy. Light energy attracts and does not destroy. Only dark energy destroys. Therefore God does not destroy.

Humans create their dark illusory energies/realities/karmas and are responsible for their actions. If they dwell in dark energy, the dark energy will destroy them and if they dwell in light energy, the light energy will take them to the path of ascension (return to the light/God).

Our ultimate goal is to return to the light (God) and the ascension process is through dimensions. We are currently in 3/4 dimension and moving to 5th dimension.

2012 is not a doom and gloom like most people think.. Its a change of a cycle (5th dimension) which is already ongoing. A new cycle begins in 2012. The Mayas, Religion, and Scientists knew about it so its not a secret even though that portion was removed from the bible. Those who choose to ascend will move to 5D and those who choose not to ascend will leave the earth to a place the can continue to evolve. God does not destroy anyone. Its Universal law of free will and choice.

Ascension is all about consciousness, frequency and vibration. It not about creating dark realities, recycling dark illusions or constantly partaking in duality and waiting for a Saviour (Jesus) and fearing a destroyer.(God) to judge and sort out the good or bad.

Earth is currently vibrating at high frequency and any human not vibrating at the same frequency would find it hard to remain on earth in 2012 and would have made a choice to leave. The light energy (holy spirit) is already here to assist humans with raising their vibration.

First, I will say to Christians to forget about Mayas, 2012, conspiracy theories, predictions and new age stuff. Also, forget about religious dogmas (sin, evil, devil, Satan etc). All these are words created by Religion to keep humanity in state of fear and panic so you pay more tithe and offerings to the churches. They do exist in a different way that is kept secret from the bible.

Focus on light energy, God/Jesus representing the light and not a destroyer. The dark representing Lucifer and the destroyer. Illusion such as money, materialism, ego etc as allowed by God to wake us up. Duality as activities we create by combing light and dark energy. We are responsible for the duality/karma we create.

With that in focus, research about consciousness, frequency, vibration, unconditional love, duality, illusion, dimensions, consciousness, frequency, vibration, spirituality, light energy, dark energy, benevolent/regressive Extra-terrestrials, law of karma, Universal laws, free energy, reincarnation, free will, free choice etc. Ponder why some of these words are missing or banned in our religion and education.

Once, you have done this, you will get a clear picture of what will happen in 2012, where you stand, what your roles are and where you are going in 2012.

In addition to this, try to have an open mind about benevolent Extra- terrestrials as they have a role to play in our consciousness. They are not God’s or angels but our knowledge about their existence as God’s creation helps us in our awakening and consciousness. This is why their existence has been kept secret from humanity.

If after you have read this and done the research and you still don’t feel it is necessary to welcome the fact that 2012 is a new beginning for humanity, and one that is divine by God, then you just wait and see what will transpire in a couple of years but please stop criticising those who have woken up to these facts and are preparing for the coming changes.
