Racial Bigotry? Its Time Is Past: Vote Obama for President

When one considers the great accomplishments of America’s citizens whether it be in winning gold medals at the Olympics or being responsible for great strides in medical research no one cares what color the person’s skin was. That is as it should be.

I can’t think of many people who would turn down a critical blood transfusion for their child or the chance of having a kidney transplant because the person’s skin color did not match their own. To me this are such simplistic things that I just don’t understand the prejudice and actually find it abysmal that such a thing can still exist today.

In all truth I think that such attitudes are from the dark ages and exist merely because we have been so separated and because we do not understand the heritage of other ethnic groups. How wonderful it would be if we can all share in the diversity of each group and better our lives by doing so.

The Bible says that Jesus died for all. That must mean that He did not have any prejudice based on the color of a person’s skin. Our own pledge announces that we must have equality for all our citizens. Equality means that any one of us is able based on their abilities to become the best that they can be but to achieve this we need good schools for all of our children. We need affordable health care for all of our citizens. We need affordable and alternative sources of energy to ensure that our country doesn’t flounder under the wavering friendship of the Sheiks in the Middle East.

Yes, I admit that there are issues that I have with Senator Obama’s stands on the issues of abortion and gay rights but when I vote for the next President of the United States I am aware that the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the constitution and current law is what will determine these issues not the next President. As President, Obama will be able to solidify and correct problems with our economy and the leaders of other countries have already made it clear that they will work with him. On the other hand, Senator McCain has already shown himself to have one focus and that is on the military, yet his voting record shows that he is not all that concerned with the lives of our veterans once they are injured. Senator McCain also wants to give more tax breaks to big business and oil companies that are already making unprecedented profits off the backs of hard working Americans. Why not, this is a man who doesn’t even know how many houses he owns and is married to one of the wealthiest women in the United States. This may be part of the reason that he so wants to see tax cuts given to the wealthy.

I cannot say that McCain is not a Patriot or that he doesn’t deserve our respect for what he endured over 40 years ago but I can say that his mentality is still in the Bush mindset of warmongering. It is not set on fixing things he has no understanding of like the economy and our inadequate infrastructure.

However, Senator Obama understands that the average American is struggling to make ends meet, owns only one house if they are lucky enough to have held onto it throughout the current mortgage crisis, and understands that alternative fuels are the only answer for our energy independence.

If you are against Obama I wonder if it is not because you are afraid of the color of his skin. Are you a secret racist? If so, then look again at Obama. He is half white even though his skin is dark. My children are Italian, English, and German and forty years ago that would have been something to be embarrassed by but today has no significance. That is the way that it should be for all of us.

There is no doubt that I admire Senator Obama and his wife Michelle and there is no doubt that I appreciate his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate. Senator Biden brings experience to the ticket and since that is one of the problems I have often heard quoted as to why people won’t vote for Obama that should put that issue to rest.

Additionally, if you have a problem with Senator Clinton not being nominated get over it. We need a Democrat in the White House this time around. We need to bring our young men home from Iraq. We need to fix our economy. Despite President Clinton’s faults the economy was workable and we were basically out of debt when he was the Commander in Chief.

That means that the only decision for you to make is if you want another 4 years of the Bush Administration (More of the Same) or if you are brave enough to seek change in the form of Senator Obama. Good luck since if you make the wrong choice you have no right to complain when fuel prices continue to soar despite the oil companies (Who will continue to be subsidized under McCain) record profits or the next bridge falls down because the car companies were bailed out to the cost of American safety.

60,000,000 abortions.

It is the relativistic embracement of a unprecedented genocide that can only be defined as the greatest holocaust in human history. It trumps all other issues and will be the historic linty and blithe upon this era of history..

Who makes nominations for Supreme Court Justices? The President. How long do Supreme Court Justices Serve? For life unless they resign or are impeached. Two to four seats may be vacated during the next 4 years to allow, if elected, Obama to nominate new “liberal” justices to the bench.

Impeachment of justices been attempted but only a handful have made it past the simple majority of the House and not all of those made it past the 2/3 majority required of the Senate. In all likelihood a Supreme Court Justice die on the bench or willingly gives it up.

1,200,000 American children died in 2005 because of abortions  http://www.guttmacher.org/media/nr/2008/…). In 2005 (latest mortality numbers available from webappa.cdc.gov) 1,211,403 died from Heart Disease AND Cancers. 1,204,035 total American AND Iraqi deaths since March 2003 to May 2008  http://www.justfreignpolicy.org/iraq/ira…). 1,263,339 American deaths in All wars in the following our formation as a country counting both sides of the Civil War.

But Abortion is not your primary concern in selecting a President. Priority concern??

Oh yeah forgot - one of the biggest supporters of Democrats in favor of abortion, Planned Parenthood.

37% of the abortions performed are to black women and 22% are to hispanic women.  http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induce…) That is 59% of the abortions are focused to only two minority ethnic groups but that is racial bigotry.

Planned Parenthood founded by - Margaret Sanger Racial Bigot - Goal to control the population of blacks and she promoted this to the KKK in numerous speaking engagements.

To use your own phrase: If you are for Obama I wonder if it is because of the color of his skin? A person that does not respect the lives of ALL other no matter what his skin color should not be the President of the United States of America. Here we should not judge life by its length or the package it comes in, size or color, but rather remember that we all have inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!

What a bunch of nonsense!! Do you actually think for yourself, or just accept the Democratic Party’s “talking points” as absolute truth?

To insinuate that people are voting against him because of the color of his skin is typical liberal victimization. Why can’t Obama’s supporters accept the fact that many people are opposed to him because: 1) His voting record is so far to the left that it’s almost absurd that he won the nomination for president, 2) His policy proposals are just the same old tax-and-spend garbage of the liberal left, 3) He appears to be absolutely clueless whenever he doesn’t have a teleprompter telling him what to say… among many other problems.

By the way, out of debt under Clinton? Are you kidding me? We have been TRILLIONS in debt as a nation for DECADES.

Try learning to think for yourself, rather than swallowing whatever a political party tells you to think.

First: No one is scared of a black President. I’d be more than happy to have Condoleeza Rice as president.

Second: I don’t know how you are convinced Obama can fix our economy when two years ago when democrats took over Congress, gas prices were around 2.00 a gallon. If it’s gotten this bad already how’s one president going to stop it? Yeah we need alternative fuels who doesn’t want that but I think we need to focus on lowering gas prices until then which Obama has already stated he doesn’t mind the gas prices where they are (what millionaire does?) Supreme Court is so screwed up right now too it isn’t even funny. Have you seen the stuff they’ve allowed and not allowed? Have they even looked at the constitution which is what they’re supposed to stand for and defend? Good gracious.

Third: My kinks with Obama are his view on abortion (even killing the baby after birth of a failed abortion), gay marriages, and government spending. As far as housing how do you think the mortgage crisis occured? People either aren’t working and trying to live off the gov’t (which apparently Obama doesn’t oppose) or they don’t know how to manage their money properly and are living above their means. People need to understand when you get an adjustable rate… IT CAN ADJUST!! As much as it wants so even if it’s 3.5% now that doesn’t mean it’ll stay that way!! I have a fixed rate I’ve been paying for about 20 years now and with gas prices yeah I’m struggling like everyone else and I’d appreciate it if my tax dollar wasn’t spent bailing others out of stupidity. I could go on and on.

I don’t believe the segment you’re addressing will read your (well-written and topical) blog and suddenly realize they’re racists or just plain wrong.

P.S. Obama won’t be significantly different than McCain. They’re both owned by the same people.
If those people want war, we’ll have war.

Continue to watch Obama backtracking. Tell me he won’t be more of the same. He’s already looking like a POLITICIAN. Neither of these clowns deserve our vote.

I agree with lefty none of them impress me but I firmly believe that if you want to get rid of racism in the US, you have to quit talking about it and making it more than it truly is. On that note let me ask this: If it’s wrong for a non-black citizen to not vote for a black candidate because of ethnicity alone, is it also wrong for black citizen to vote for a black candidate on ethnicity alone? I understand we’ve never had a black man (or woman) in office and I have no problem with putting one there but I say don’t rush it. Wait for a good one to come along with more experience and better morals and hey count me in.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t get past the headline on this one… Vote for someone just to prove I’m not a bigot? LAME!!
