Mudslinging in 2008 Presidential Campaign Makes McCain Appear Desperate

My question is why must McCain use ads that do not deal with the issues. Is he too afraid to address the real issues of the campaign? Maybe he doesn’t know what they are or maybe he is so afraid of what Obama has to say that he feels that ridicule is his only hope to sway some voters his way.

To my way of thinking Obama has run a clean, non-slanderous campaign and deserves the respect of the masses. He is the one that wishes to address the issues such as the economy, health care, the Iraq War and show that he has viable ideas to fix the problems that we face. So, while constantly being forced to stray off the issues due to the attacks on his character he questions why Senator McCain won’t stick to the issues and I agree. I also believe that he is trying to focus people on their fears of the unknown. What would those fears be? One of course is that Senator Obama is black. Another is that his name sounds Middle Eastern which of course must mean that he is a terrorist. Thirdly, the ad addressing him as the world’s messanic messenger addresses the fears of those who see someone who can rally the masses as the future anti-Christ.

Give me a break. Given Senator Obama has some black blood but he also has some white blood and if you ask me who cares? I certainly don’t care what color the man’s skin is if he can deliver on what he hopes to accomplish. As far as being a terrorist I have never heard anything so ridiculous. I can only wonder if these people can really be that ignorant. Obama is a patriotic American who grew up in Hawaii. He is a Christian, researched and affirmed through CNN news. Lastly, he doesn’t fit the profile of the anti-Christ who is supposed to be a descendent of Europe, most likely Rome. Forgive me, but I don’t see Senator Obama as Italian or European.

With that said and out of the way, I also question how McCain can attempt to make it look like Senator Obama is singlehandedly responsible for the fuel crisis. John McCain has been in office since 1982. In all of that time ask him what he proposed or voted on to relieve the possibility of the first oil crisis reoccurring. By researching and comparing these sites I hope you will be able to make an informed decision as to whom you would rather represent you. You do have the choice to vote for four more years of a Bush type administration or to vote for a new and improved administration. The choice is up to you. Remember mudslinging means that the candidate must have little else to offer or he would be concentrating on the issues and not on slandering the other candidate.

    The biggest problem with McCain pointing out the issues is that…he shows his biggest weakness. He’s the public head of the political party which created the problems we’re in the middle of. By pointing out the issues…he sinks himself. As long as he can divert attention away from his congressional past…the voters will not remember he’s part of the problem…not anything close to being part of the solution.

    It is about time someone started to question Mr. Obama’s qualifications. He states “Facts” as if he were Moses, yet doesn’t have a clue what he is even talking about! The Media will not hold him accountable for his terrible judgement in friends. What if McCain had terriorists and criminals as life long friends and mentors? Do you think the Media would ever let us hear the end of it? No of course not! This election is being run by Hollywood and the Major Media and they intend to elect Mr. Obama regardless whether anyone votes for him or not. Mr. Obama will have to pick people to help him run the Country, and we all know how bad his judgement is on that matter. The Media can’t erase all his terrible negatives, so his only positive is his race. He will need much more than luck to win this election.

    Does this happen to be your first time voting for president? Take the blinders off! Everyone thinks it’s their candidate that runs the clean campaign. Everyone think it’s their candidate that has the right ideas. Everyone thinks it’s their candidate that is the only ‘real’ choice.

    I’ve been voting for presidents since the 70′s, and the same core issues remain now as did then (and both parties have had their chance at demonstrating their ‘leadership’). There are only two real dimensions to elections (as there always have been):

    First, do you generally believe in limited government, lower taxes, social conservatism, and a strong defense —- or are you inclined to favor bigger government, social activism, and a smaller military? (I personally favor the Republican view on this).

    Second, is the character of the person one that you want both leading the country’s government and being commander-in-chief. (I personally favor McCain’s character – anyone who gives up the chance to end years of his own torture but does not for the sake of his fellow officers tells me all I need to know on this score).

    I really think the only reason Obama’s character comes into question so much is that is still unknown by most people. So when you peel back the onion, you find all the troubling people he’s had as mentors and advisors and begin to worry.

    I can understand why people can get enamored by Obama’s oratory – he’s pandered to every group he’s been in front of and is a great speaker. But that’s not a president – it’s a salesman.

    Political parties? But they are not the issue. Shadow governments and elitism are the issue. It’s necessary to understand that if there is a lot of money and power lying around, then there will be unscrupulous types who will move in and grab it. There are, and they have, and we don’t need to think about conspiracies, just about plain old reality that has never been any different. Money is the real power, and politics is just the pantomime act with all the expansive gestures and facial expressions. The Constitution still exists, but many and tricky are the ways to get around it. Both political parties and most of their candidates show to one degree or another subservience to the discreet oligarchy that actually rules the people, yet some candidates are easier to coerce than others, and those that are promoted by the news media are the most amenable to coercion of all, obviously so, because the news media is almost entirely subservient, and automatically approves the candidate who is chosen by the super-wealthy kingmakers. How could Congress recess without voting on the supremely desperately needed oil measures? Don’t they care about the people? The answers are simple: Congress recessed without voting because it was told to—and no, of course they don’t care about the people. It would be unwise to think of Mr. Obama as a savior, since he will do what he is told, combining with that a certain contempt for America and Americans.

    The relations that McCain are like Bush are somewhat false. I find this funny because before McCain was the nominee people regarded him as the “maverick” that went against Republicans, now they put him into the same group.

    I don’t see the ad as mudslinging, I see it as the truth. Now note I am not a supporter of McCain, but I am absolutely against Obama. This ad is more of a mockery of his cult-like following, mostly of people who don’t even know anything about Obama.

    Obama is a great speaker, at least with a teleprompter, and as we have seen lately, he doesn’t do well unscripted. One because he is inexperienced. He has absolutely no clue on taxes, and his huge spending plans on useless social programs and bail-outs will only worsen the economy, which even though has had rough patches, is still sound and growing despite what the media says.

    The Anti-Christ is European? Sources of this information are??? Mr. Obama certainly has charisma and the undeserved awe of the masses.

    “improved administration” or unproven administration?

    “address the issues”? I can “address the issues”. Big deal. Can I fix the issues? Can Mr. Obama fix them? Who knows. He’s a total unproven entity.

    Obama may or may not be a patriot. McCain is unquestionably so.

    To your thinking, Bush = McCain. By that reasoning, HRC = Obama, New campaign slogan: “If you like Hillary, you’ll Love Obama!”.

    John McCain’s major problem is ego-dystonia. If he lies and tells people something that isn’t true, he feels bad about it. Liberals have no problem. They reinvent themselves as “centrists” every election cycle.

    Ah, another set of Democratic talking points. The one thing I understand about Mr. Obama is that he is promising to raise taxes so that he can ‘give’ various things to various people. I’ve read his web site and his plans and that’s what I conclude.

    Mr McCain tells us he will reduce taxes, but doesn’t bother to tell us what will be cut. Another fiscally irresponsible viewpoint.

    I would hope that anyone considering their vote would check the ‘Grandfather Report’ at . In my opinion all candidates in recent years will continue the downward trend until the nation breaks.

    It’s difficult to listen to either of the Presidential candidates and take them seriously. Given the current status, I will vote for the one that will do the least harm and Mr McCain appears safer.
