Bush Administration behind tracking American citizens: Is he the Judas of the 21st Century?

The move by the world’s governments to inject tracking chips into animals and even humans, allowing them to track and spy on their citizens, has aroused concern regarding an individuals right to privacy.  The proposed chip contains a transponder that can be read by GPS satellite systems and is powered when the carrier’s body is in motion. This is not some made-for-TV movie but by its own documents a cradle-to-grave computer tracking system the U.S. government has set as its current goal. This technology is to be implemented as a form of databasing parents and their babies at the time of birth, as well as, enabling the government to monitor a family’s performance from preschool through a child’s career years.

This well-coordinated effort between the Departments of Labor, Education and Health and Human Services states that everyone is slated to be put on a career track - not of their choosing - and databased throughout their careers, having to be recertified each time they change jobs. While this sounds like great material for a movie it is quite frightening when one realizes that this procedure is underway and readily available in government and related documents.

While unbeknownst to many American citizens this technology is not some futuristic goal as our own government has been using the Echelon global spy satellite system to spy on Americans for the last two years. Echelon is operated by the five main English-language countries: The U.S., Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia and uses satellite systems to monitor bases in those countries while avoiding violating their own laws, which prohibit spying on their own citizens, by having one of the other Echelon countries do the spying and then handing over the data. This sweeping system uses radio spectrums worldwide allowing governments to eavesdrop on phone calls, faxes and emails. Sadly, it was not our government that willing acknowledged this monitoring system since it only surfaced when the American government could no longer deny Echelon’s existence after the European Parliament prepared a 112-page technology assessment report on the system. Shortly thereafter Insight Magazine ran an article that concluded that the rapid proliferation of surveillance technologies presented a serious threat to the civil liberties of Europeans. After this report and after this magazine article were circulated Europeans became furious because they now have evidence that suggests that they may be subject to political spying and industrial espionage.

With this information coming to light the European Parliament has opened an international debate on Echelon charging Great Britain with aiding the United States in conducting industrial espionage, now alleging that both of these countries obtained sensitive corporate data and placed it in the hands of their own businesses giving them a competitive advantage. Once again this invasion of citizen privacy will be a legacy of the Bush Administration who has even rebuked Congress’s 2006 efforts to investigate the system under the guise of the National Security Agency who monitors the U.S. end of the system. I don’t know about other citizen’s reaction to this info but I for one found it quite disturbing and for any of you with a religious background I would question if this is not the next step in God’s plan to place the mark of the beast on a person’s forehead. If it is and the Bush Administration is propagating it where does George stand in regards to the anti-Christ. While he doesn’t fit the requirements of the evil one himself could he be his henchman or is he the Judas of the 21st century?

I am struck by amount of deceit in our government each time I do any investigation of this type. I am not sure if the proper thought is that my life is so insignificant that there will be no reason to mess with it, or if I should become irate and start on a campaign of exposition and destruction. I would suspect that many feel this way. It is too big to tackle by any one person, and also too difficult to mount a group of people to a task. The task must be undertaken but how?

Although it sounds trite and perhaps corny, I think a letter to one’s Congressional representatives would be in order [not just talking of doing it, actually putting the fingers on the pen and making marks on paper...e-mail can be dispatched with one finger, and actual paper send a message of careful thought, perhaps as much as the words on the paper].

Dear Marc

It is nice to know I am not alone in my frustration regarding the current state of American affairs. Growing up we were taught that America was a peaceful nation but it seems that has changed in the last couple of decades and we are now the aggressor. I agree that writing a letter is an important step but I also know that who we vote for in the next election will be critical for all Americans who value their freedom. So far I am leaning towards John Edwards but if he doesn’t make it to the election I am in a quandry. I am not a Clinton fan and other than Rudy I don’t see any viable candidates. What do you think?

Have a good day
Jackie

I, too, favor John Edwards. I really like Obama, but being realistic…he has no chance for one of 2 reasons, either the bigotry that only shows up behind the curtains at the polls, or the claim of inexperience. I would like to see an Edwards-Obama ticket, as I think in 8 years this country might elect a black man who has been in the second office for 8 years.

I am not a Republican, but as I concede that a Republican might get elected, I could get behind Huckabee, but probably no one else.

No matter who wins, it would be important to somehow communicate to the next president that we are tired of the Patriot act and all actions like it.

Hi Marc

I think you have a good idea for a ticket. Maybe with any luck someone from the Democratic party will pick up on it. Have a good day.

Jackie

This is a cobbled together, fear mongering story that tries to tie transponder plants with the Echelon system, and of course blames it all on President Bush. ECHELON has been around for 60 years http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu8IbZR1GFGQABXxXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTB2b2gzdDdtBGNvbG8DZQRsA1dTMQRwb3MDMQRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZAM-/SIG=121u9ggv0/EXP=1176417947/**http%3a//fly.hiwaay.net/%7epspoole/echelon.html
Great Britan has been using street cameras all over the place for at least 10 years.
The cradle to grave nanny state is definitely a liberal/socialist idea and has been pushed as such for at least 40 years.
I supposed if your dream ticket wins in 2008, they will immediately disassemble all these programs? Not a chance!
The point should be that our government, no matter which party is in charge, is too big and has strayed far from what our founders originally planned; a small FEDERAL government with a majority of responsibilities handled by the STATES.
Let’s get back to that!

Dear Occam

I agree that we need much less interference by big government but I sure don’t know how that is ever going to be accomplished. The state I live in is small and in the Bible belt. Most of us who live here would agree that we don’t like a lot of what is happening. I wish there was a way for American’s to stand together against the big business interests and the wealthy that manipulate our system for their own purposes.

Have a good day. Jackie

I am leaning towards Huckabee also. I am not a republican or democrat, but he seems to be more for the people. It seems that every great kingdom or nation that has ever been has always had a downfall when the people started giving more controle to the government. There are so many programs out there that people have bought into, but it just makes the government more in controle of their lives. What I am concerned about is that we are so caught up in our bliss that we don’t realize that we are walking right into a trap. We are like a mouse ready to be crushed in the mouse trap. It is time for America to wake up and to stand on freedom which is the base of our country that keep us a float.
