Most Likely to Die by Jackson, Staub, and Barton amazed and delighted me with its undeniably suspenseful and well-written story line, as well as, its seamless interaction between the characters especially given the fact that each section was dedicated to a specific character and written by a different author.
The storyline begins in the year 1986, in Portland, Oregon, where a horrific murder occurs changing forever the lives of not only the victim’s family but that will eventually affect everyone that had been directly associated with the victim. The drama then shifts to the class’s twentieth reunion where those planning the event soon learn that plans for the reunion have reawakened the killer who is now targeting those involved with setting up the reunion. So while most women planning to attend their school reunion only fret about what to wear, Lindsay Ferrell, Kristen Daniels and Rachel Alsace must contend with the nightmare of having their most sacred secrets revealed by their stalker, knowing all the while that they have been targeted to be murdered making this once-in-a-lifetime event something to dread.
The authors do a credible job in joining the main story line with the romantic interests, fears, and regrets of the main characters making for an edge-of-your-seat experience that you do not want to end. This is the first mystery I have recently read that I would endorse with a 5 star rating as I found myself unable to put it down causing me to pleasurably anticipate Jackson’s soon to be released paperback edition of Shiver and her new hard back Absolute Fear due to be released in August.
