On the Run by Iris Johansen

Iris Johansen’s On The Run is a perfect choice for women who like to read books that involve children. However, if you tend to shy away from violent content you might not choose to read this particular book.

From the first page, Ms. Johansen has lain out a highly intense plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you are able to visualize the main characters Grace Archer (who has a gift with horses), her eight-year-old daughter, Frankie (a gifted musician), and Frankie’s father, Jake Kilmer (an international gun for hire), as they struggle to elude the evil Marvot who seeks to kidnap Grace and kill her daughter.

The plot takes you from the safety of an Alabama horse farm to the deserts of Morocco where Grace is taken with her daughter to tame a pair of wild horses that could lead Marvot to an invention that would change the world forever.

Throughout the novel, Ms. Johansen incorporates a series of wonderful love stories from the love of a man for a woman to a mother’s love for her child and how that love empowers the people involved to face the dangers that they have no control over and how it gives them the power to risk their very lives for those they love.
