Are you getting a T-Mobile G1? Why or Why not?

I am currently a T-Mobile customer who uses a Blackberry. I have been using an old Blackberry 8700. A year ago I really wanted an iPhone. I am a heavy Mac OS X user. I’ve been an Apple fan and user since 1994. Then I received the crushing news that the iPhone would be an AT&T exclusive (indefinitely). I have had some bad experiences with AT&T and decided that I would not switch carriers to get the iPhone. Well the iPhone 3G was announced in June and released in July. The only thing that kept me going was that the Blackberry Bold was expected to be released in August. I figured the Bold would be out on AT&T in August and then T-Mobile by January ’09 .Well….that didn’t happen. I like my Blackberry, but I really need an all in one device because I do a lot of traveling. Then the HTC Dream aka the G1 is announced. I am like finally. Yes, I know there is no multi-touch only comes with a 1 GB Micro SD card and there is no desktop syncing. Well single touch works for me, Sandisk is releasing a 16 GB MicroSD card, and I use Gmail, Google docs, and Google Calendar. To me desktop syncing is not necessary because there is already a Google Sync application that allows you to sync your Outlook calendar with Google calendar. The G1 is not the best look phone, but it work for me. What do you think? Are you getting a T-Mobile G1? Why or Why not?

Got the G1 and love it, but it’s definitely not a blackberry, and it’s not trying to be. Fine with me! the Curve drove me crazy with it’s re-arranged web pages and the way it email was organized.

there’s only a few things I don’t like about the G1 :
1. a usb headset and lack of stereo Bluetooth - hopefully this will be an upgrade so I don’t have to use those bleeping earbuds!

2. The included case - It looks like an oven mitt- once again that’ll be an easy fix one the accessory market catches up (HEY CLIPHANGER! Here’s your chance fellas!)

Anything else, I’m just waiting for the software developers to catch up

I want one now, but I am having a real hard time getting a White G1 on a 12 month contract in the UK at the moment. I ordered a Sim to see what the reception is like on T Mobile and if its better than orange I will request my PAC code.

I am dumping Orange (Crap Signal) and my Blackberry Bold. The only thing I will miss is the User Selectable Fonts which was why I went Bold in the first place. I am hoping that there will be an app to change SMS font size, style, and color for the G1.
I am not an heavy user so I don’t think I will have any battery worries after I get a Power manager app.
