Non Competes…

Apparently somebody at Microsoft isn’t too happy with Google right now. Google has decided to hire a former MS Internet Services VP.

Microsoft is seeking legal action to stop Dr. Kai-Fu Lee from working for Google. However, the position he accepted is in China and he used to work for MS in the US. This brings up an interesting political situation. Should a contract made in the US, the non-compete agreement, be enforced in China?

Realizing that both MS and Google are multi-national corporations and MS does have grounds for legal action in the US… but still… the question begs to be asked. What do you think?

What Do You Think?
