Global warming is a subject that certainly generates a lot of controversy. This article on the BBC talks about some of the findings from Climateprediction.net, and struck me as interesting as it dealt with distributed computing.
I have been involved in the SETI project for years and it’s good to see that others are involving themselves in these projects. There are plenty of them out there, so do a search on Google and see if anything interests you. Put some of that spare computing time to work for a worthy cause.
