We live in interesting times. Free speech isn’t as free as it used to be. Evan Coyne Maloney, that independent thinker that brought you brain-terminal.com, is at it again with his new site, AcademicBias.com. It’s the home page of a full-length feature documentary he and his team are working on, to be released in Spring 2005.
In the meantime, he’s released a 46-minute documentary called “Brainwashing 101“. From the site:
Brainwashing 101 is a provocative short film showing how universities use tools such as “speech codes” to force political views upon students. In this cutting exposé, documentary filmmakers Maloney, Browning and Greenberg shine a light on political correctness, academic bias, student censorship–even administrative cover-ups of death threats–at three schools: Bucknell University, the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly).
I showed it to a friend, and he said “That’s amazing. Conservatives like free speech?” My response was, “Yeah, and what’s more amazing, apparently liberals don’t.”
It’s a topsy-turvy world. I guess nowadays, that $40K gets you a little more than you bargained for.
