Something Rotten in Rotterdam?

I wasn’t sure whether to write about this or use it, after I staggered into Drunk Men Work Here.It appears to be a free, automated blog generator. About the only use for it I can imagine would be as a vehicle to advertise something else (rock star self-promotions, advertising your other websites). Perhaps I’m not very creative, but I cannot see how the group sponsoring it will make money … unless … they stealthily insert their own advertising, like my previous hosting company did. When I checked Google, it racked up over 39,000 returns.

One of them led to another of the site’s pages, a memetree, which gave me another notion of where the group might be headed. Notice it has a .org extension in the name. It’s registered to a person in Rotterdam, NL. Memetrees are an interesting social networking research tool. A more attractive and useful one lives at an NEC site. It builds trees daily, archives previous days’ growth, allows you to add your own message, and sports sound! It’s slower that Drunk Men’s PHP construction, but far prettier.

Build a memetree with Georganna at Writer’s Edge by leaving comments.
