Libraries go wireless

Many thanks to Joe Crawford over at the San Diego Blog for keeping me informed on all the technological happenings here in my town. Now it seems our city’s libraries are going wireless.

According to a recent statement issued by the city, nine neighborhood locations, including the main library downtown, now offer wireless access. Think of how handy this will be for students and researchers. Does you city or town offer this to the local library users? If not, perhaps they should be urged to do so. Maybe a local Boy Scout troop could set it up as a project to earn their “Geek” merit badges. If all else fails, maybe you can talk the library into allowing Starbucks to set up a location inside their building. Wireless access, coffee, and books; it’s an unbeatable combination.

What Do You Think?
