Life without walls? The BSOD is big, fills up all my view, and blocks me from seeing what i need to, so it’s a wall. If there are no walls, why do we need windows? Wouldn’t someone just be able to waltz in and take all my data? Or wreck anything? Jeez, the money spent on the advertising campaign, and just to be taken as a joke! Come on! Microsoft is now hiring morons, so I guess we could hire President Bush and we might get some ideas that may sell a copy of Windows or two. Another thing, Microsoft is taking Apple’s “Mac VS PC” ads the wrong way. The people are the computers, not the users, @$$hat!

On another, note, one of comedy, did anyone catch that guy at the end of most “I’m a PC” commercials with the tiny, tiny, tiny, TINY head?

We all know sound in Windows 95 uses SB16, right? Well that goes right down the crapper, so try an Ensoniq card; I’ve heard most of them work but I used the ‘es1371′ card. I know this one works and works very well.

How to get sound in Windows 95 over VMware:

Install Windows 95
Install VMware Tools
Find the Ensoniq ‘es1371′ drivers
Install them to Windows 95 (if you get a file not found error, keep clicking OK)
There is no step 5 (that means you now have sound!)

Release of the iPod Firmware 2.0 love the ability to buy apps while no Wi-Fi Is available. I downloaded a lot of cool stuff and it seems that ALOT of this is stuff that was available over Installer.app.

iTunes Version 7.7 carries support for version 2.0 of the iDevice Firmware, but I had trouble installing it though. But now I’m downloading most of the free apps.

As You know, I don’t own a Mac or iPhone and I’m basically faithful to Apple otherwise. iHave owned an iPod since the release of the Video iPod. I will buy the iPhone 3G though.

Microsoft is full of crap. Why did I get windows? Oh yeah:

I had no choice. Dell sent me my Dell Inspiron | 1501. It was pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows XP. Before, I had viewed Microsoft as a household name for quality. That was before I began my research. I wanted to know the secrets of Microsoft. So I began. My research had taken me into the cobwebbed history of this company. I had looked to Bill Gates as a role model. How wrong I was. He lies, slanders, and he will do anything for money. It isn’t money that is evil it is the love of money that is evil and he who strives for it in a selfish way. That is to say that Bill Gates has hurt many people in his strife for ‘green’.

The one way he has hurt people is his closed mind and ears. Many people have had their life ruined by identity theft online. Since Most people use internet explorer. The Browser is very insecure. The data encryption may be 128bit, but there are holes in the browser that can lead to system compromise. Even if you have no personal Info on your computer, hackers can do anything even route illegal software, child pornography, or viruses (usually infecting the trafficking computer).

Most people trust Microsoft more than the OEMs who built their computer. I need to tell you something very important about Microsoft’s Work. It isn’t really theirs. They just bought other people’s work and modified it to bear the name Microsoft.
Bill gates is not worthy of a centi-billion dollars.

He sells bad products purposely. This Ignorance is a greatly unrecognized threat to society and Computer Users alike. I don’t understand Why Bill Gates Chooses to sit back and watch his unstable Operating System Crash. Maybe it’s because he thinks we will just take whatever he dishes without knowing what the secret of the product is. Windows is an unsteady operating system that people buy into because it’s a Microsoft Product. That is not being a smart *or* informed consumer. If you choose to ignore this and go about the day on your PC, you just need to know that there is a choice. Macs May be expensive, but a Mac mini isn’t. Microsoft doesn’t want you to know that, so they try to smother you with advertisements to blind you of the light beyond the door. Macs are easy to use, but most people would rather use their old pc. Well, a pc isn’t just Windows anymore.

Now there are Operating Systems that will load on a windows computer that are just as good if not better than Windows.

Linux is a free OS that easily runs on your PC. You can import settings/files from windows or just wipe them off the face of the earth. They are many “flavors” of Linux. Some, such as Ubuntu, are very versatile and usable. Linux is free and usually very easy to customize. Most companies are writing versions of there products in Linux, due to the growing number of people who use it. Many people hate Linux however due to the complexity of the “Underpinning”.

Why are we under this leash? Oh, so we will have to use Microsoft products. Microsoft Will keep trying to make its users keep coming back. Is there a reason for this control craze? Oh yeah, Money. Money, Money, Money. People don’t want to pay for something if a better alternative is FREE! If you like shelling out $800 for every 3 PCs at your workplace for Vista and Microsoft Office 2007, you are a retard. Sorry to be so harsh but that makes NO sense. Microsoft Windows Vista $400 + Microsoft Office 2007 $400 = $800. The product keys of the past named to products run out after 2 uses. But, Ubuntu Linux $0 + OpenOffice $0 = $0! And no product key is needed for Ubuntu or Open Office! Now, why do you *need* Windows? One thing about Linux Is W.I.N.E. WINE allows you to run all of your Windows Programs on Linux!

New viruses are incompatible. True. Vista doesn’t run on Win98. XD
Very little bloat (200 MB on disc with no crap)
Office 2000 runs flawlessly. We still use “.doc,” right?
Firefox 2 still runs well if you delete two files.

I have to say Windows is worth less than dog scat but it gets the job done. Linux isn’t flawless but no-one cared to learn bash and write a virus and OS X is really BSD w/ eye candy. BSD is built on the stability of UNIX and Linux is a darn good copy of unix. but all in all there is no stability at an OS’s release. Give vista a few months and it will be ok. We hated XP at first too right?

If you have Windows Vista, you might notice your virus scanner finding more things than it did when you had XP. Vista is cool looking and I admit it is fun to play with but when you get as many trojans, viruses, or droppers as my dad’s vista notebook has, you’d welcome the idea of a downgrade. If I could I’d move him to Linux, but i don’t think that Linux is ready quite yet. Ubuntu is really good, and 8.04 is nice, but Linux isn’t ready yet - yet. I can see my dad sticking with vista, but it isn’t ready yet, i don’t thing that I have up’d him to SP1 yet, off to do that now, adios!

Windows Vista Home Basic Review

I very recently received a notebook PC (not mine though), running Windows Vista Home Basic, and actually found it usable. The graphics didn’t get in the way, No crap to deal with, and everything seemed to Work. I do not have a copy of Home Basic, but it seamed ideal if you MUST have Vista. This was a Dell which was a birthday gift to my dad, who needed his own laptop.

WThe wow starts with crappy programs…
The Same as IE7, but now there is a Useless toolbar which takes up a taskbar’s worth of space. No real use! Honestly! I AM a web developer for myself and my friends, but this toolbar served no purpose! Same as IE7 but includes ActiveGlitchV1.0!!!
ActiveGlitch causes fast typers to “auto select” their addressbar, and all contents to be replaced by one slash. result: “http:///”

Vista Install/Upgrade Tips:

1.   Make Sure you know which edition is right for you or even if
    Vista is right for you. I am running Vista in a Virtual Machine.
    So far I have had No Problems with it. For the average Home user I
    would recommend Vista Home Premium. If you are a media person, you
    might like Ultimate or Get XP Media Center Edition.
2. Know your hardware specs. Don’t be mad if your ’90s Graphics card
    cannot run Aero. My computer cannot run Aero due to the fact that
    it is a Dell . Also if you are going to upgrade you might need
    to Download The "Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor" from Microsoft.com
    which will tell you What you need to upgrade.
3. Don’t be afraid to open your computer. Unless you are on a laptop,
    you might need to explore to find out if your parts are compatible.
4. Get the right version! Nothing is more annoying than buying a
    32-bit version instead of a 64-bit version and not being to take
    advantage of that 4GB of ram believe me you WILL need it!
5. Never use minimum requirements. The actual amount should be 2x
    that. This Is very Expensive, and always remember… You would be
    better off with a MAC!!!!!!!!!!

Macbook Explosions: Should you be worried?

Recently, i have seen MANY macbooks exploding. The question is should you be worried?

On one hand this isn’t very pleasent.

I was watching Chris Pirillo’s stream and he was talking to someone whos’ Macbook had just exploded. I sent him an email with the contents of this page. This is no laughing matter. This is very unpleasent, but on the other hand, Apple has been VERY nice to those affected. I think that portability is emphesized with a lack of “what if” thinking. What if the laptop was in an aircraft where everything is constantly expanding and there is no room for battery expansion and the battery explodes? What is some plastic falls on the processor an shorts it out? What if someone jars the laptop and a critical component like the fan fails and the board overheats? Hmmmm… Back to R&D? I don’t kno. That is for Apple to decide. You do need to know not to leave your laptop on for more than 3 days at a time. If you see strange battery behavor, don’t hesitate to call Apple. Something like this could be a potential danger to you or those you love. Apple may be nice to the “victims” but if someone were to be seriously injured, how could they fix that? It may sound like i’m coming down a little hard in Apple, but blame is not the game. This is very important. If you have friends with Macbooks or iBooks, etc., tell them about this. Send them a link to this page. Do it. Please. For their safety. After all, they are your FRIENDS arn’t they?

Many of You know this as “standby” mode or “sleep” mode. I got an e-mail from a friend about did it really save power. I am responding to this message by saying: it depends. Many factors can contribute to If it really works or barely works. If you have it in sleep mode for less than a hour, you won’t see any noticable difference in energy usage. Bottom line: leave it for a while, and it will actualy do anything to your power bill.

Have you ever set a background on your iPhone and you cant make it the springboard background? Yeah i want the background there too! But you can! Here is how:

1. Download Summerboard and one theme (any it doesn’t matter).

2.Go to the SMBprefs icon.

3. Go to theme and select the one you downloaded.

4. There Will be some options. Set them as follows:

Theme WallPaper : off
Theme Status Bar : off
Theme Icons : off
Theme Dock : off

5. Set your wallpaper through the normal way.
