Phenom quad coreWell the first edition of AMD’s Phenom Quad-Core processors have hit the market today. The “Agena” series is supposed to be hitting shelves around the nation today and have a very fair price tag compared to the intel. Although some may be disappointed in the max clock speed that they are making available today, I think it will still be well worth the price tag. The three chips being released today are Phenom X4 9500 with a clock speed of 2.2Ghz & the Phenom X4 9600 with a clock speed of 2.3Ghz. Both of those models have a Thermal Design Point of 95W and 512MB cache per core with 2MB shared L3. The highest version released today is the Phenom X4 9700 with a clock speed of 2.4Ghz and 125W Thermal Design Point using the same as the other two, 512MB cache per core & 2MB shared L3.

I have been checking online retailers all morning to see If I could locate any with some on their website’s but have not had any luck so far. As a longtime AMD fan, that feels a bit let down from the companies lack of products in the near past. Although at the same time, we know that they have been working hard getting things together after the merger with ATI. So the future should bring us AMD fan’s some pride. we hope.

Quad core seems cool nut to stay competitive they are releasing the cpus’ faster to keep the money coming in and they feel if Intel gets a market lead on profit that they will become losers.

That is my thoughts on the subject and it seems to me every/ all businesses focus on the money more than quality and an excellent product anymore.
