There is one purchase that has saved me from many sweltering hot nights this summer. It’s a purchase that I long held off because I didn’t see the huge benefit. I finally purchased a window fan. It was $30 at Wal-Mart (and probably cheaper now because summer stuff is on sale). I placed it in my attic window pointing outward and WOW! What a difference.
Before this purchase, my air conditioning seemed to kick on non-stop. My house also had a the unnatural capability of holding heat even with all the windows open for some reason. Now I get the nice cool night air flowing in from the outside. Air flows all the way from the windows on the lowest level all the way up.
I can’t wait to get my electric bill. I’m sure it’ll be cheaper than last August.
