Squeezing More Time Out of Summer

The Back to School commercials are a sad reminder that Summer is almost to an end. Over the years I have developed quite a habit of staying up very late to try to squeeze whatever time I can out of each Summer day before it ends. As a teen, I would stay up until 3 and 4 in the morning, not thinking about how it caused me to sleep until noon the next day.
It’s amazing how your brain can be entertained by the simplist things late at night. Right now I’m watching the Biography channel. I’m suddenly very interested in the show about mobsters right now. Maybe next I’ll turn it over to G4 to see if I can catch Olivia Munn dressed as Slave Leia. As I sit on this couch, I’m reminded of the other ways I wasted my Summer nights.
- Watching Nirvana and Guns N’ Roses videos on MTV
- Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Comedy Central
- Eating Ritz and aerosol cheese.
- Playing the latest Mega Man game on the NES.
- Trying to see if the Spice Network was free on cable. (Some nights the cable company would let it through)
- Reading Byte Magazine.
- Chatting on Prodigy online service.
- Watching SportsCenter when it was actually good.

Staying up past dark is generally a bad idea man. You need eight to ten hours of quality sleep to insure you’re gonna grow. Also, if you sleep till noon what kind of impresson about you does that give other people? Not very good I’m afraid.
