My First Online Contest - Giving Away an iPod Shuffle

In an attempt to be more like Chris Pirillo, I am currently running a contest on my Technipages site. I’m trying to get more regular readers. I’ve decided to give away the new 3rd Generation iPod Shuffle to 1 person that has become a fan of Technipages.com on Facebook. Part of me thinks that hardly anybody will join. Whenever I see online contests like these, I steer clear of them because I don’t want to take the chance on getting any type of spam. Other times I just think that it’s a scam and the person running the contest isn’t really giving a prize away.
This is why I’d like to hear from some of you. What do you think of these online contests? What kind of contest would you run?

How’s about givin’ away a French maid or something similar? Doesn’t even have to be French. Scantily clad would be good.
