The Life Cycle Of Your Social Networking Account

Each social networking account goes through a certain life cycle. It is explained below:
- You’ve discovered a new social network. A few of your friends are on it. You decide to join and use it part time. You post 1 or 2 pictures and update it once a week.
- More people have joined. You have people trying to communicate with you regularly. You need to give your account more attention. More pictures are added. You sign in 2 times a week to update it.
- A new circle of friends have joined that you lost touch with years ago. You’re excited! You must find other new people too. Your account is accessed every day. Your entire photo collection is uploaded and you want to share them with everybody.
- Your social network is getting popular. You’re a pro at coming up with witty status updates. The site is so popular that the owners figured out that they need to actually start making money. They start placing ads in certain areas of the site. It annoys you a little bit.
- Now your social network is loaded with features. Every one is loaded with an ad of some sort. Things are happening in the background that you don’t even know about. You start to realize that many of the people on your friend list aren’t really your friends. Many of them annoy you with stupid invites or comments. Your boss saw your status about getting another job and he’s not amused.
- Your social networking site is getting old. People are no longer using it to communicate as much. You start neglecting your account and only start to sign in a few times a week. Other social networking sites are out there and you start playing with some of them.
Rinse, lather, repeat.

Yea, that’s happened to me with Facebook, only one difference. The process seems to go back to step 2 or 3 with Facebook because new friends join on it, friends I haven’t seen in a while.

I have a Myspace i only set up to talk to a friend have not seen in years . I had a facebook account the FB killed after a year for no real reason other than I used nick or fan name or a name that was real(this was after near a year of being on there and not using the account much but to look at a friend account for picture he posted from travel to Germany. a few new people had found me and I started to use the FB account then with out warning it was locked till i give my full name and ton of personal info..
I have 2 twitter account to keep up on some tech news and events I have gone made 5 FB accounts that have yet to be closed as i fell i will lose at best 3 of them if FB rules they are not legal but i fell none will be dropped for some time as it would screw with their numbers ans FB want numbers . I log into all and have link to news groups and friends. this is test to see just what will FB do ad how long.. one Clue is the have word ban going on the word “Cyber” on its own and in some combos like Cybersecurity work as the second name but not a first or as two words. you can’t use Cyber Counsultant(some thing I have used for 25 years) in any form. I do consulting I can’t uses Cyber Security Consultant at all. but I have found other are and there are ways to do so. So will I keep using the accounts? Hard to say I am not big on them as the demand so much persnal info and i am one that dose not post full of real info about my self that much or at all on online sites as I do not trust any security on network but my own.
will any of these network keep going or will they fail and just fade away? I still use IRC I still use ICQ I still use Chat programs for real time chat. FB and Twitter have there place but can they last and in the long run what will keep them going? what make you come back is the answer to making them work. If there is no draw to it They will die.

Yes, it reminds me of MySpace & Facebook.
I haven’t been to MySpace in years…
Facebook is fading fast.
