Minimize All Windows Quickly in One Keystroke
I work with a team of guys that have been into computers for years. Some know advanced programming, and others have spent time memorizing almost every Windows setting. However, there is one bit of knowledge that many of them seem be unaware of, the keystroke to minimize all Windows.
I recently had 3 people around me asking for about information that was located on my Desktop. They all stared at my screen while waiting for me to pull it up. I pressed Windows Key + D as I always do to get me to the Desktop. One of them goes “What the hell was that?”. “Huh?” I said, confused about what he was referring to. Suddenly I had 3 people that have been playing with computers since the TRS 80 asking me how I quickly minimized all of my open windows. So I put on the demonstration for them. As a result, I think I increased company productivity by 10%.
This is probably the #1 keyboard shortcut I use. You can also make a shortcut to the desktop in the Quick Launch area if you’re not into keystrokes.

I too find it amazing that only few of us Geeks know that key combo. I’ve been using it since the ages of Windows 95 and it always helps when I’ve got tons of windows open. Hopefully Microsoft doesn’t demolish it in the final version of Windows 7 or in any future Windows OS. It helps me sooooo much!
