How To Kill a Long Drive

I often travel 8 hours to Chicago and back. It’s a long, lonely drive. I try to keep my mind occupied by calling people, but in some spots along I-90, there are roaming charges. People also usually don’t want to talk for very long.
I would listen to music on my Sirius radio, but I would get bored of it quickly. Luckily, I discovered that listening to talk radio instead on Sirius really kills the journey. It makes the entire drive entertaining. Howard Stern is my current choice. I tried listening to his show on regular radio years ago and I couldn’t stand it. On Sirius though, he’s quite entertaining since he can talk about anything (on terrestrial radio he couldn’t swear). The interviews get pretty deep and Stern asks very good questions. It’s sometimes pretty interesting to find out who Rob Schneider has banged.
Talk shows like Howard Stern seem to work best for me during the long drive. It really makes the time fly by. The show is replayed all day so you can catch it any time you want. If you’re a trucker or somebody that’s on the road all the time, Sirius is well worth the extra dough for a subscription.
