Man Gets $27,000 Cell Phone Bill

Here’s another case where a customer gets a phone bill in the thousands of dollars. A man in Miami set his laptop up on a wireless network to watch a Chicago Bears game. When he came back after a trip, he had a bill for over $27,000 from AT&T. His charges were later dropped down to $6,000, then settled.

This guy was lucky he got his matter settled. I’ve heard many others that aren’t so lucky. People that travel need to be aware of the network their phones or laptops are connected to. In some cases, you don’t even have to use your device and you can get charged.

So are you saying he was using AT&T’s wireless network that charged him for his usage?

When big companies like AT&T issues these dramatically large phone bills, do you think they ‘realistically’ expect the consumer to pay?

Well this is Da Bears. I’m from chicago area and we love our teams-win or lose. Seriously he was still in port and they had him as roaming.
What a shock . He said at first he thought it was a joke. he finally got the charges removed-but it took time. There was a mixup that showed he was out of country instead of sitting in port.
