The Auction Site That Will Overtake eBay

In my dreams, I imagine a web site where I can auction my goods off without being gouged to death. I imagine a site with more flexibility when it comes to making a purchase. I don’t want to be tied down with using one payment method just because somebody wants to make yet another dollar off me. Yes, this is the auction site to come soon to overtake eBay. Google, are you listening? Here are the features this site will posses.

More Payment Options

Buyers and sellers will have the option of using PayPal or Google Checkout for their transactions. The new auction site will never show favoritism for it’s own ‘preferred’ payment system.

Better Feedback

Feedback will be what eBay used to be like. You can leave positive, negative, or neutral. No stars, just simple feedback buyers and sellers can use to make a decision.

Lower Fees

This site knows that they are just posting an ad for you, and is not entitled to a huge chunk of what you are selling the item for. It won’t be greedy. It will make enough money from you by charging a flat rate. Only $1 for a post!

Social Networking

Since the site will focus on the individual, social networking will be part of the site. You will basically have your own page so buyers and sellers can get to know you. You can build a deeper relationship with the people you do business with.

Great post. I’ll be “celebrating” 10 years with eBay in a few months. Perhaps then I will retire my eBay account and move on to this eBay killer of which you write.

I’M Ready for a alternative to Ebay……….I’ve been with Ebay for allmost 8 years now, BUT they are really getting TO BIG for their OWN good. They just DO NOT care about their members, BOTH Sellers and Buyers, SOOO Its Time for someone OR something to Help them with a “Reality Check”, IE: we don’t NEED YOU……..YOU NEED us !!

Sounds like you’re talking about ebid.net to me. They have all of those things. You do have to pay a one-time lifetime fee (currently $50) in order to get the final value fees for free, but after that you can list a normal auction for free, have no fvfs, or get a “featured” listing for just $1 up front. If you don’t pay for the lifetime membership, then it’s a flat 3% fvf, which still blows ebay out of the water.

I have been on eBay since Dec 1999 as a seller and a buyer but I will walk away from eBay in Oct when eBay implements the changes that eBay have recently announced.
I have always paid and got paid with check, cash or Money Order without any problem I have over 8900 feedbacks with over 15000 transactions so I believe I can attest to the fact that the no MO or check policy that eBay will implement is not necessary.
I will look for other sites that will allow me to conduct business the way I have always done before

My name is Daphne and I have started an auction site called My Auction Fix Check it out maybe it will suit your fancy. Tell all your friends. i’m just starting out so i need all the help I can get. Thanks

Ebay is selling themselves out of the market. Their exorbitant commissions and “nickle and diming” every trade in and out will shut them down all in good time.
