Don’t Blame Favre

Yes, we are all sick of hearing the Brett Favre story. We’ve been hearing about him retiring for about 4 years now and yet it continues. Some people point the finger at Farve and just want him to go away so we don’t have to hear about it anymore. But it’s not Farve’s fault that the press over-pursues this story to death. Farve just wants to play football. At times he thinks of packing it in, but all he wants to do really is play. He’s just a simple man that can’t make up his mind, and the press unfortunately covers every second.
Now the stuff he might’ve done with contacting the Vikings. That was probably not a good idea. However, I don’t think he is an evil person if he called them. The man just wants to play, and he’s clearly not wanted in Green Bay. So I can understand him making whatever calls he wanted to just to play. He may not have known it was even wrong to call the Vikings.
It’s also not the Packers’ fault for not wanting to let him go. That team is a business, and they definitely don’t want him to come back around and do harm to them. They can probably get a few draft picks in a trade if they hold onto him as well. Some might say he’s earned the ability to choose his destiny. Well, think if it was your team. Would you want your star QB that’s been with the team many years to walk off and play for a rival?
