I have to vehemently disagree. Sure, you have a point in saying that multiplayer games (Halo, Call of Duty, WoW) have revolutionized the way that people play games, but those games simply cannot reproduce in the same fashion, the feelings and emotions that are present when playing a well written, well developed single player game, such as Mass Effect, any number of JRPGs, or even the single player storyline of Halo.

Yes, the multiplayer dynamics of MP Halo, and WoW are unmatched by any single player game.... but when have you seen a strictly multiplayer game (WoW), or the MP component of a game (Halo), evoke a strong emotional experience akin to a great story in a SP game? It can't be matched, or rather, I have yet to see that, though there may be something out there that I'm missing or have yet to come across.

Until every game comes with a great coop mode (Halo, Gears of War), I would hardly say that single player games are dead. There's more to gaming than trash talk, fragging, and teabagging; and that is hardly dead.

I agree with you completely. Unless the single player game is amazing with crazy features no one will ever play.

I'm an older gamer, and I tend to disagree. For me at least the single person game sells the multiplayer game, and more often than not, with the amount of "additional" stuff that you have to install to play a mulitplayer game, (steam, punk buster, etc) I flat out refuse to play a game that demands that I install gamespy or more crap.

Maybe I am getting old and stogy, but I won't bother with a game that doesn't at least let me try it out single person. I can't be bothered.

Get a Free Audio Book

Are you tired of reading books? Me too. Over the years, I developed pulpuslaceratapohobia - and the only known cure for that is Audible. Finally, a way to digest words without actually having to read them. Professional voices are wonderful choices if you love literary works in audio format. Are you ready to read some audio books? Maybe you should just listen to them instead.

VMware and Parallels for Virtual Machines

It doesn't matter if you're running on Windows or Mac OS X - every power user needs either Parallels or VMware (or both). There's never been an easier way to test software without destroying your primary operating system's stability. Think of how many times you wish you could press a 'reverse' button on your computer. Plus, there's no easier way to try new Linux distributions - see what all the fuss is about. Run Windows in OS X, run Linux in Windows, but the best way to do either is with VMware and/or Parallels.
