Toss Adobe Reader, Switch to Foxit Reader

Months ago, a few bloggers introduced me to Foxit Reader. I didn’t try it at first, but after experiencing the lag after clicking a PDF file on a web site in Firefox, I finally though I would give it a try. Foxit Reader is one fast application. It never freezes or locks up the way Adobe Reader does. It doesn’t take a ton of RAM either. Check it out at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/

Do you have any idea if FoxIt Reader has the ability to open password protected PDF files? If it doesn’t, I’m not using it because I get too many PDF files that have passwords. I don’t see the feature anywhere on their website. If you need a password protected PDF file to test it, let me know and I can make or give you one.

On the Mac side: Mac OS X can natively read PDFs, but I wanted to try using Adobe’s Acrobat Pro software.
I tried opening up a PDF in Safari using the Acrobat plugin and it was slow as dirt. It must of took about a minute or so for it to load up, something Safari normally does in a second.
I highly recommend not using Adobe’s Acrobat at all, on any platform. I need to check this Foxit Reader out myself, I haven’t found a good reader on Windows yet. thx for the info ^_^
