A Callout to All Those Who Chat: Stop Using LOL!

You people! You sit in cubicles everywhere chatting away. You’re on the street texting on your stupid phone. You even sit right next to me. When we chat or text message and I type something funny, you type LOL. Liar! I did not hear you laugh! You are not laughing out loud!
Oh ROFL? No! You are not really rolling on the floor laughing, so don’t use that either! I demand that you people stop using LOL so carelessly! This is not responsible texting or chat etiquette.
We need to invent something new to respond with when somebody chats us something funny. How about TF? That can be our way of acknowledging THAT’S FUNNY without faking that we are actually laughing. That would be a step in the right direction.

it could mean ‘lots of laughs’
but then the person could still be lying

LOL is not a physical act. if that were the case then so would ROLF or LMAO. Who rolls around on the ground?? no one.
It’s more of a state of mind than anything else…while you’d get some sort of physical reaction from ROLF or LMAO.
what I hate is adding “z” to everything… OMS! now that’s annoying.
LOLz
btw; my friends and I came up with SLOL. Silently Laughing Out Load.

With all the problems in the world this is all you have to worry about? I guess I have nothing to worry about either since I’m responding. LOL LOL

Honestly, if you can’t think of anything to blog about, just don’t blog. DELOL
(Didn’t even….LOL)
Anyway, who has time to chat anymore? I don’t have to deal with texting because the only portable device I own is my shoes and they get no bars (RF or Ethanol).

I could not agree with you more. I get extremely tired of seeing that word, it makes everyone seem so unoriginal. Why not just use a good old fashioned “ha”?
