I agree!! I was a huge follower of EA’s Motor City Online. I helped to beta test the game for them. I then proceeded to purchase the game (at full price mind you). I also then paid my $9.99 a month for the almost two years it was online. It had a huge following. They had 4 servers which were full at almost any given time of day. They continually promised us new content, but yet failed and gave us only 2 new racetracks in 2 years. Yet we continued to pay and play. They KNEW they had screwed themselves out of their yearly Need For Speed ‘crapass’ game cash. So they eventually shut down the servers and basically told us all “too bad”. Not so much as even an offline patch or multiplayer patch for us to host our own servers. There was even an attempt to buy out the franchise, and they were turned down cold.
I miss this game soooooo bad. It was in my opinion as well as many others to be the best pc racing game ever. There has to this day been no other. I would gladly shell out 9.99 again to see this spark back up!

Yeah, EA does blow. BF2142 + Punk Buster + Vista = WTF!?!?! Vista may be a new security model (aka, the right way) and its a bit of a change, but WTF!? I have games like COD4 and it works great. Sim City Societies and BF2142 crash my system on a regular basis. Apparently they dont pay for the good coders….

I have yet to see EA do a game that I would sacrifice my left arm to buy. It seems as though they are just not the gaming company that they used to be. It really is a shame also that there is no competition when it comes to sports games and we are seeing the consequences of that with the Madden and NBA Live franchises. I played both SimCity 4 and Societies and found them both to be very boring and it is true that they do not keep up with their websites at all.

My god I didnt know it was this bad! I knew EA sucked n all that but i’ve been checking out some old games that have been favourites scince I was 4! They siriously messed up command and conquer… I really do think EVERY gamer should boycott EA for what they have done to us all.

EA should be shut down they’re a joke and they ruin like everything. Here’s yet another reason why EA sucks. They said that load of crap about that they are gonna bring back mac gaming. Well they released CNC3 for mac ( Which I bought because I use a mac ). Then they had a the genius idea of not releasing the expansion for mac. Yep. They released the game for mac, then made the expansion unavailable. Now if I want to play the expansion I have to rebuy the windows version of CNC3 to put it on my windows, then buy the expansion. And EA confirmed that they have “no plans” to make a mac version. They suck and I have no idea why they have been so successful.

EA really is horrible. Their way to manage account is a disaster. I play Battlefield 2142 (which is really bugged) and I play it online with the same account I used to play BF2 and so I was supposed to appear with a 2 above me but that of course never happened. And one day I wanted to change my password this was about 1 year ago. They decided to change a login thing and you had to use your e-mail instead of you classic EA account name…
I never got to change my Battlefield 2142 password cause everytime I changed my password at EA site my account’s password would change but not the password I sued to play Battlefield 2142. I am Brazilian (the Brazilian EA site takes 1 month to load) but since they made that change I have to access my account from the EA American site as in the Brazilian EA site it says I haven’t created any persona yet whereas before they made that change I could access them from the Brazilian EA site. Then I finally find a answer in the EA Battlefield forum to change my Battlefield 2142 password but I also needed to change my e-mail to change the password! So I changed my e-mail and I can’t re-switch, it’s just a lot of confusion. Plus I had to send millions of e-mails to EA beacuse of that fucking punkbuster which I guess I don’t even have to explain a thing about it, it just sucks. Oh and when I bought the Battlefield 2142 which game with Northern Strike (the one with DVD-ROM,CD whatever) I had to wake one fucking week because I couldn’t play the Northern Strike maps. And now I wanted to end all this and just delete my account from EA and lose all my stats and start all over again (I’m like ranked in 5000 in Battlefield 2142) I discover I can’t delete my account and need to wait some months so it their crappy service automatically deletes it.

They’ve been successful because idiots like me keep buying games like Battlefield Modern Combat because it has the Battlefield label. Guess what. It sucked balls. Now, Bad Company on the other hand looks like it could be a good game. But no doubt EA will leave all the bugs and imbalanced issues the game has. 2 RPGs or so to take out a tank from behind? Pistols more powerful than an assault rifle? Pfft.

Well, I think EA sucks because I have owned their stock for years.

They have been THE leading company in a booming industry and have completely failed to capitalize. The stock has gone sideways to down for the entire period. They should just burn the company to the ground and put all of us out of our misery.

Yes EA doesn’t know wtf they are doing, I totally agree that their Sim City games are horrible, and now they think Spore is going to save them, it is all over believe me the competition is fierce and EA will not be able to keep up with more of their casual crap gaming

Amen. Amen. Sorry to Rafa, but EA NEVER deletes their 2142 accounts. Trust me I have been through this one too. I wanted to delete and recreate a soldier using the same name. Well, when you “delete” your soldier… NOTHING happens. All you do is just remove it from your active soldier list. EA keeps it in their dumbass databases forever. Because of the dogtag system, I am sure. Go ahead and try to use the same name, you will see what I mean about their “delete soldier” feature. Not even to mention the muItiple in-game bugs, like a tank hitting an aircraft with the main gun and it not going down…. bullshit. I fucking hate EA games. And what is worse is they don’t give a shit.

Electronic Arts Sucks because they killed, Earth & Beyond. One of my favorite games.

Earth & Byond was an extremely rich MMO, with a complex crafting system and very fun combat. I spent 2 years playing it, and EA shut it down. There is still a large group of hardcore EnB fans out there. You can checkout the emulation project here if you google Earth and Beyond emulator.

As for EA they refuse to comment on why they destroyed this great game Space MMO(ENB) that was ahead of its time in quality.

EnB had what many MMOs still don’t, they had a rich story that was backed by great gameplay and it looked beutiful for its time. Most games of today with their pretty graphics, lack any form of depth. If EA was to wake up and make Earth & Beyond 2, I garauntee they would make millions.

All EA is going to do at this point is sucker ppl in to buying Live Games and Madden by hyping them up severely, then trying to buy out well-performing competitors (like they recent attempted to do with Take-Two) i think they should be taken to court for attempting to monopolize the video game business.

Yeah, the ruined yet ANOTHER GAME again with spore..with all those bugs and glitches that appear EVERYWHERE and all EA is doing is just counting up the money they “stole” from everyday consumers like me. They thankfully released 1 patch for spore but thats done jack crap and theve yet to confim a second one. God i just wish maxis was back by itself like the good old days of simant.

I’m a Playstation 3 owner (no flaming please). EA has consistently made crappy games for PS3. Every PS3 game they’ve done so far has had a million bugs that require updates to fix. They’re lazy and they ruin franchises. Remember how awesome Command & Conquer and Red Alert were? Now we have “Tiberium Wars” (which I own with the expansion) and the plot is ridiculous. I hate EA with every breath I take.

I played Earth & Beyond religiously. I freakin’ LOVED that game. EA completely shut it down. They should have at least made tools for someone to run a server if they wished.

People you forgot to say about Command&Conquer games. Good old Westwood made C&C games which rock even today! (RA2/Yuris Revenge, TibSun..), Generals has EA sigh, but Westwood made is also, just EA closed them after they finished that game. Since EA started to make games they ruined C&C. Just look at C&C3. Okay not bad at all, but it sucks in general. People play it one period (one summer), and game became boring. Some people told me how RA3 sucks too. It has only good campaign. But I see mods for RA2 and even Tib Sun even today. I also make mods for RA2/YR and Generals. I doubt I will make mods for EA’s C&C3 orRA3. But so many people complain how EA ruined C&C. With other words they don’t give a shit if they games are good or not, they only care about money. They suck lot.

I will never buy another ea game again. I bought a legitimate version of 2142 from a second-hand store and can’t create an account because the CD key is already registered to an account (the previous owner’). All I want to do is play single-player offline and I can’t because I HAVE to connect their mothership, and their mothership won’t recognise me or give me a chance to LEGITIMATELY re-register the key. It’s a f%*^%$^king scam and I’ll boycott them from now forward!

i agree they have turned into a big worthless corporation, i got medal of honor 10th anniversary for xmas and allied assault is useless now airborne has stuttering problems and their damn site takes years to load up,the ads load up right away of course!
they will never get a penny from me,also i am sick of people rewarding software companies for being lazy and worthless by buying their software! stop it people,or dont complain when you get screwed over because you kiss their ass all the time because you have to play a game! get a life! i would also tell others to avoid steam like the p[lague as well

I have had it with EA Games! I garauntee I’ll never buy another. The idiot that designed bf2 and 2142 should be shot,fired, then shot again . You buy the game and then you only get half the weapons, the rest you must earn online with all the cheaters and that SUCKS. You gotta start out with the equivalant of a BB gun compared to everyone else’s big guns. Then they issue patches THAT MOST CANT FIND THE DAM INSTALL FOLDER NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. The servers dont count alot of points making it twice as long before you can get your weapon kit upgraded. Im finished with EA Games and online altogether. It’s been 4 days since I bought game and STILL cant even get the dam patch to work and get online play.,

I actually enjoyed sim city 4 but when The Sims 3 came out, EA really disapointed me. They took out all the furniture that was in every other sims game and they made a stupid store out of it. True there websites never have any maintenance. They shut down all there competition with cash and there competition makes way better games then them. If they takeover Take-Two Interactive, my days of gaming will be over, and same with a lot of Rockstar game fans. I’m so happy that Take-Two rejected there offer of 2 billion in 2008, if they accepted, EA would have full control over every sports game in the world. I used to play Sims Theme Park when I was a kid and when visited there site, it was the worst maintenance I have ever seen!!! I swear if they even plan to offer Bungie some money to takeover, I’m going to bomb EA’s headquarters.

We have to boycoot EA. They’re really bringing gaming to the wrong direction. If we all manage to boycoot them, they won’t have enough money to do there usual stuff and they’ll shut down and everything will go back to how it was, great games being released by great gaming companies who care more about satisfaction then money.
