Did you know that Internet Explorer 7 has a setting that controls the tolerance of blocking pop-up windows? I didn’t.
You probably know about the setting under Tools > Internet Options under the Security tab already. There you can elect to Turn on Pop-up Blocker by checking or unchecking the box, but here is an area I wasn’t aware of.
1. Click the Settings button.
2. At the bottom you can set the Filter level to one of the following:
High: Block all pop-ups (Ctrl-Alt to override)
Medium: Block most automatic pop-ups
Low: Allow pop-ups from secure sites
On this screen you can set Internet Explorer to always allow pop-up windows on certain web sites.
You can also elect to Show Information Bar when a pop-up is blocked or enable or disable the annoying sound that IE makes when it blocks a pop-up window.
3. Click Close when finished.
