iMovie Limitations Not Withstanding
Faking a bogus Universal Pictures Intro. It’s been done to death and to be honest, is hardly anything worth Universal getting too worked up over. Despite this, it seems that iMovie is now making it impossible to make one of these Universal Pictures intros for home movies and other related concepts.
Actually, that is not entirely true. You can still use the cool globe spinning effects. It’s only the word “Universal” that is not able to be used during the sequence. As to how the specifics of all of this came to light, is anyone’s guess.
At the end of the day, I guess this all comes down to protecting trademarks and helping Apple avoid yet more frivolous lawsuits. And if that means forcing users to use words for their intros not of concern in this area, I guess that is a small price to pay in Apple’s eyes.
