According to this article, the word on the street is that Apple as a collective company contacted the authorities over their missing iPhone.

Yes, apparently a a company has the ability to contact the authorities without the assistance of any one employee. That’s a neat trick! Then there is the small matter of a door being broken down to get to the  iPhone.

I heard a different version of this event, but I may be wrong. One thing is for sure, the cops will take theft of Apple property very seriously. So if someone contacts you to do a review on stolen property, probably not such a hot idea.
