A recent caller on our Live Call line opened up a can of worms by asking my opinion as to whether he should buy a Mac or Windows machine. He’s starting college, and wanted to know whether I felt an HP TouchSmart computer would be better for him, or a MacBook Pro. I hate when someone asks my opinion on what is better for them! I really do!
How can I possibly tell you what will work best for you? How much do you have to spend? What will you need the device for? These are the kinds of things you need to think about. I have no way of knowing what will fit your particular needs. You have to do your homework.
I still use the HP TouchSmart that I have. It’s functional, but the touch screen is not as responsive as the one on the iPad. This is due to the type of screen and technology used to build the devices. Not all touch screens are made the same, just like all cell phones are different in some ways.
You want my recommendation? Get what you want. Figure out what features are important to you. Decide what you’re going to use the machine for. Research reviews and consumer opinions. Ask your peers. Do your homework.
Don’t take my word for it. Choose wisely, young grasshoppers.
