Is The Apple Tablet Real?

I think by now it is fairly obvious that the Apple Tablet is real, it is coming and the projected price point is fairly likely. Despite the economy still being in the tank (talking about jobs, not Washington hot air), a sub-$1000 portable Mac is just what the doctor ordered for most people out there.
Assuming the rumors about the batteries being lost lasting have some truth, the portable tablets may be a big hit. That being said, any lack of a real keyboard is not going to work well if this is to be used as a portable computing device.
And before anyone points to the success of the iPhone, I would remind you that the iPhone is a phone first, portable computer second. A Tablet from apple would be a computer first. So unless we are expecting to unlearn basic usability, I think going with a touch screen here might be a problem.
