Apple Featured iPhone Applications

Came across an interesting article looking into what it means to have a iPhone app featured in the top section(s) of the app store. One might think that being featured instantly translates into fame and fortune for the company that has their app in the limelight.

Sadly, there is much more to be considered here. bandwidth, among other resources being used that can easily make it difficult at best to offer a winning application for free. So if an application has something like Push functionality, forget about being able to offer it for free in many instances.

In any case, the above link provides an interesting perspective on what it takes to run a successful app in the app store and what to expect should the application get into the the big leagues. While just one side of the spectrum, I think it definitely shows that nothing is really ever blank and white.
