Nope - No Beatles For iTunes

So it seems as if there is still no likely date in which we will ever see the Beatles released on the the iPhones of the world via iTunes. Clearly, EMI has no intention of budging and frankly, considering the fact that while the Beatles are great band, they will eventually fade out as generations lose interest.

So while my statement above may or may not come true, the fact remains that it is time for Apple to simply move on. We live in a free society and in that society, EMI has made it clear that they would rather make as much money as possible in a dated format. Clearly, they are not aware of the fact that the Beatles on iTunes would shatter records. But whatever.

At the end of the day, I merely see this as yet another way we are watching the music industry having the reality beat out of it. One of the last cash cows in a lost format, still makes them money. Let’s check back in 5 years or so and see how well that is working out for EMI then.
