AT&T Is Whining Again

This butt-kissing article by PC World points out the counter perspective that AT&T is actually the victim here. It is not really responsible for taking on the kind of network load that anyone in the IT field would have told it would happen when becoming the exclusive provider of the iPhone’s data services. No, AT&T should be given a break and the fact it is reworking its network is evidence as to how dedicated it is. Give me a break.
Anyone with a brain can see that when you work this hard to be the only data provider in the US for something like the iPhone, the responsibility to provide a usable experience is not to be shuffled off when it becomes harder than anticipated. Not able to keep up? Fine, let other carriers help!
Yes, imagine AT&T’s surprise when its customers started using the full functionality of the phone it opted to be the exclusive dealer for. How dare we! Clearly, we should stick to SMS and only check email or update applications when connected to Wi-Fi. Never mind the cost of paying for data services that are barely being rendered to us, the consumer. AT&T needs a hug… bah.
