Apple Is Not Mr Nice Guy Anymore

Remember when Apple was friendly and cool? Well, it is still cool… but sadly it is also about as friendly as a car wreck. So much so, that articles such as this are calling it the new Microsoft.
Where I part company with the above linked article is not so much how it is no longer the underdog of the 1990s, rather how it is in a position to pose a phone/media player monopoly. Yes, with the iPhone and iPods put together, Apple’s market share is rather huge.
The magic really kicks in though once you consider the fact that as iPod adoption grows, especially with the touch, Apple is in a position to become a Microsoft but in the mobile sense. Basically what Microsoft was to PC software, Apple could very well become to software in the mobile space.
