Pricing Mobile Apps To Sell

There should be an image here!Regardless of mobile store or platform, you really need to price an application for sale in such a way that most people are going to want to buy it. In some cases, this means that you can price an application higher if the perceived value will allow it. But generally speaking, you are going to see most people ignoring higher price applications.

This article on how Microsoft’s own Mobile App Store team perceives pricing of individual applications to be something that is apparently not market drive is ludicrous. The idea mind you, not the article.

MS needs to realize that sometimes the best approach is to getting applications launched in a new app store is not to price them out of sight, rather to ensure that they are accessible to the common man. And yes, this means keeping things priced in a range as to not repel potential users with an unrealistic price barrier.
