Time For A Mac Redesign

There should be an image here!New Features are on the way for the Mac, according to this source. In addition to the coming new features, there is also talk of a Mac redesign to update things a bit. Wonder what Apple has in mind here?

Visions of the old color encased Macs keep coming to mind. But no, I am sure these Macs while still being self-contained, will be a bit more attractive than that rainbow colored nightmare.

I envision a slightly thinner, larger Mac shaped pretty much the same as the iMacs of today. The big difference however, is I suspect we will see touch technology built into the screens. Not really going out on a ledge here if you stop to think about it.

As long as the specs for a Mac continue to be less spec than a PC, for less money, it wont matter to me. Im a PC user. As long as apple sells computers for $1k more than the same spec PC, I will stay a PC. Last time I checked a pound of Aluminum was not $1k. When Apple will make a comparable specked computer with same features as a PC, and keep the price in the $1600 region I MIGHT buy. As for now I have a HP HDX with 500GB of HDD, 2.6Ghz Dual Core Pentium, and 1066Mhz FSB, and did I mention 6GB of Ram @ 733Mhz! I have HDMI output and lightscribe DVD-R, and a fingerprint reader. Heck at Apple if they offered half that stuff it would cost well over $4K, I paid $1499 for my PC. Yes Apple needs a design and price adjustment, this is why only 5% of computer owners are a Mac! Just my opinion.

No the Macbooks are fine the way they are! The earlier Macbooks didn’t look serious!

People that pay over $1K for a PC and justify it vs the Mac by quoting spec – remind me of the people who buy a 12MP camera thinking it is twice as good as the 6MP camera someone bought for the same price…

Where the Mac is facing pressure is the budget side of things – under 600 for a laptop – if you look you can get a lot of laptop for 500 to 600 – but judging from market share growth Apple does not need to be there for now.

What Do You Think?
