Boom Goes Flash Memory Thanks To The iPhone

Who would have thought that the iPhone would be responsible for providing new life to the flash memory market? Based on the projections here, NAND flash makers will see a huge increase on revenue and demand for the product through 2013 according to the above linked article.
But the iPhone alone is not going to carry in these huge numbers for NAND flash makers. No, it will also mean usage from other mobile products such as the Storm, G1 among a few others out there.
Whether or not the reports of Apple actually raising the bar are true appears to matter very little these days. The single undeniable fact that is is inescapable is that the demand for this kind of memory is going up. And the demand is showing no signs of cooling off anytime soon.
