iPhone Augmented Reality Applications Here - But Not Really

Despite the technology being out there, available, today…Apple is forcing iPhone devs to wait on releasing Augmented Reality applications. To say this is a raw deal, would be an understatement.
On the flipside of the coin however, it should also be noted that this kind of technology is so new that privacy concerns are not totally understood just yet. So perhaps, this is part of what is driving Apple here?
Either way, whatever the holdup may be, being able to have people/object recognition with association to various social media venues is something that I think has endless possibilities. Now if we can just get Apple to release the applications already setup into the wilds of the app store…
