App Store Is Not Where The Future Is At

So if we were to take this article at its face value, we would be safe in assuming that there is no way that Apple’s App Store is a reflection of the future for software distribution.
My take on this is that yes, app stores for mobile devices is most certainly where things are at. Apple has proven that this is where “it’s” at. The idea that Google or any other Web provider is going to make a bigger dent in the mobile space with regard to a variety of applications in the mobile space is unlikely.
I see the web based stuff doing well outside of the mobile market, but nothing is going to touch the App Store. It’s just not going to happen based on what I have seen thus far. Perhaps this will change, but not with anything browser based in its current incarnation.
