The Apple Touchscreen Netbook Due In October

It’s been rumored for sometime now that Apple was working on their own variation of a netbook in hopes of competing in this growth market. But unlike existing netbook options, this one will be of the touch screen variety.
Thus far, pricing remains a bit sketchy, as does what it will look like. But there are reports still coming through that it will be priced at about $800. Clearly Apple has no intention of taking the low road, using less than grand hardware. Interesting, as I never really considered their choice of motherboards to be all that fantastic, really.
I guess Apple sees this “netbook” solution as becoming the “Mac Mini” of the portable market. Accessible in price, while yielding less than impressive specifications. Still, I wager this is going to answer the needs of the netbook market, interested in getting away from the typical PC platform as it were.

To do any volume of real work, it’s got to have a real keyboard as well. Virtual keyboards are fine for occasional, minimal input, but for anything more, a physical keyboard is a ‘hard’ requirement.
It probably won’t have a user-accessible battery either, if their other current updates are any indication. Hopefully, aftermarket will take care of us.

So a touch screen Netbook you say, that’s great to here apple, and for 800$ you say… i will believe it when i see it, and is the hardware going to be better then what you give people in your over-expensive computers? Most netbooks are equipted With hard drives ranges from as low as 4GB-160GB or even higher, many also include Standard Intel Media Excerlator graphic chipsets, some may have other. Most have at least 1GB of ram, and can up to as 4 but usually 2GB. And use a Single core intel Atom Processor. BUT WITHOUT A TOUCH SCREEN. and this is roughly 300$-500$ regular to get for a PC netbook. for 800$ Will apple be giving the same with a touch screen, or worse with a touch screen? So many questions to be answered, and will such a cheap Apple be worth what’s inside. Or will we see the 512 MB in the spec sheet once again. Show us how you answer the netbook call Apple, and think hard about it before making the move.
PS: do not be surprised if PC releases a touch screen netbook, as Most netbooks will be able to use Windows 7, and the technology will likley advance to more then just one brand of brand, operating system etc.
