BlackBerry App World Continues Behind Apple’s

So it is really no secret that the BlackBerry App World has been less than a stellar success in contrast to Apple App Store. But rather than seeing RIM giving up, they are going to try an approach that is actually rather clever. Enter MyBlackBerry.
Rather than spending a lot of time trying to convince people to come on over to the App World to try software that RIM thinks is great, they will instead rely heavily on you, the end user to make recommendations.
Even better is that the MyBlackBerry network will serve as a place for people to vent about any perceived short comings that users are experiencing. This alone, makes the social network a win in my book as there are a number of things about the App World that leave something to be desired.

As a non-iPhone owner, I know that iPhone apps kill all competition. I think Rim should stay in their lane on this one. They still have the opportunity to operate under the momentum of being the industry standard for business portable hardware. People who buy BBs want BBs just like people who buy iPhones want iPhones. They need to keep the competition healthy.
