Exploding Nanos Prompt Korean A Recall

Holy exploding iPods, Batman! Apparently the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards has requested a recall of first generation iPod Nanos as having them explode on the end user is really not very good for the common good.

While this is hardly the first time we have seen portable products such as these having an issue with explosions, it is a first for South Korea apparently. But this is not just an issue of personal safety, there is also the concern of potential damage to surrounding any other items of value should one of these iPods explode.

Thankfully though, this is an older generation unit. So with any luck, the recall will bring in enough of them before anyone is hurt or worse. Despite a lawsuit being launched in March, it is still good to see this issue is still being dealt with in the best possible being a recall is the only logical solution at this stage of the older Nano’s life.
