Gift Card Fraud Hits End Users Hard

Gift card fraud of any variety, sucks. But when you are dealing with Apple gift cards in any denomination, be careful as Apple might think the card is not obtained legally and lockup your iTunes account.
The only problem I see is that Apple might be targeting the end user rather than the people selling the faulty cards in the first place. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. I mean, yes, punishing those who are basically stealing by selling gift cards derived by fraud makes sense. Yet it seems that Apple is going about this in a very negative, heavy handed way.
Regardless of what I might think of all of this, one thing is for sure. I will not be risking making music purchases with gift cards from any source. Well that and I am glad I maintain physical copies of my music rather than being locked into a single piece of software. Just saying…

I’ll avoid giving a physical iTunes or Apple gift card until this mess gets resolved.
