iPhone 3G S Activation Frustration

Victims of their own success? Some might make this charge considering it might take up to 48 hours just to get your iPhone G3 S activated. But perhaps Apple is not the victim here, after all it is clearly the end user paying a price for being an early adopter of this cool new mobile device?
To me, it seems like Apple is either unwilling to make sure the needed resources are available come launch time for their new product releases or is unable. If it is the latter, then I would say that Apple’s bulletproof image is going to go so far here.
The Apple iPhone 3G S is fantastic. But there may come a time when a device such as the Pre, his a level of development where it has access to the volume of choices in an app store, amongst other goodies. When this happens, Apple could see problems if they are still unable to support such large launch numbers and the competition, is not. Even if that is because the competitor is just less popular. Just saying.

You really should have reserved it online and got it activated at the store. I mean, mine got activated in less than 5 seconds at the store right after the authorization signatures. Seriously, dude, it goes pretty dang fast.

I would imagine this is more a problem with AT&T, if so coupled with the MMS debacle I say Apple should either drop their exclusivity with them or cut them out all together.
